Poor support for Linux

Lile001, Epson
18 May 2014
  • Summary: Great piece of hardware. Epson print drivers have well-known bugs on any Linux system, and they are "unsupported". Epson Linux drivers do not support 11x17 printing, and many other large-format sizes bigger than 8.5x14.

Epson should add awesome support, like one of their well-known competitors from Palo Alto, for Linux.

Does not work under Linux

Lawrence, Amazon
16 May 2014
  • Summary: Looks like a good printer, but if you are buying it to run under Linux, forget about large format. No support for large paper sizes, chokes and throws error messages if you try. I wasted a good solid weekend trying to hack it to print 11X17, but it will not do it. Probably a great printer under another operating system. [Edit] Kept the printer, hooked up to a windows machine. Prints flawlessly under Windows, and prints 8.5X11 flawlessly under Linux.

cheap

nope, Epson
14 May 2014
  • Summary: This machine worked pretty good for the first couple of months. However, the trays are very cheaply made, I can no longer print more than 10 pages without having a paper jam, then it skips the page that was destroyed so you have to go back and reprint or rescan that page. The adf no longer works for scanning or printing. It will not feed the original page all the way through and I once again have to clear the jammed paper.

Awful

Ihatethisprinter, Bestbuy
6 May 2014
  • Summary: I had a Canon Pixma that died. Replaced it with this. This thing runs out of ink ten times faster than my Canon did.
  • Pros: Nothing
  • Cons: Everything

Software is atrocious and tech support is even worse! Do not expect to scan anything that is shiny or isn't flat!!

B. T. Price, Amazon
26 April 2014
  • Summary: Purchased this product mainly for it's ability to scan larger format items. I attempted to use it to scan graded comics which are encased in a clear hard plastic shell and are about the thickness of a magazine. The scanner created a massive glare when scanning the books and produced blurry images. I tried every setting available using the included Epson software to no avail. I even tried putting a black sheet behind the book to eliminate glare...that didn't work.

BusinessEpson7520

Barb, Epson
8 April 2014
  • Summary: States that it is a 7510 and only prints from one tray. I bought this so that it has 2 trays, one for envelopes and one for paper. Now I have to change TRAY 1 each time I want to print an envelope.
