Summary: I have owned this printer for about 6 months for a small business. It may be a good printer for home and photos but for a work enviroment it does not cut it. It is slow It is very difficult to print envelopes - almost impossible It does not like any paper except regular letter head The color is only a 6 out of 10 for true color. Its is really noisey, strangly noisey Lots of light weight plastic parts I have always had HP and will be going back very soon.
Summary: The print quality is mediocre. I've seen white streaks through text. Fine quality helps but is sloooooow. My main gripe is printing envelopes. The printer doesn't have a rear paper holder so you have to take out all your paper, put in one envelope, print, then replace the paper. (yes, I knew this from the beginning but didn't realize how much of a pain it would be to print envelopes!
Summary: I hated it when my old reliable all-in-one from Lexmark died. This printer seemed like a reasonable substitute. They DO NOT INCLUDE THE CABLE YOU NEED to set up the printer. Grrrrrrr. Went off to the store to buy a cable that costs 20% of the printer price. Not happy. Finally printing with it for the first time. It's loud and the ink darkness is inconsistent: there are intermittent rows of faded ink. We'll see how the ink supply holds out, but so far I'm not impressed.
Summary: Like some other reviewers I had trouble with the drivers provided on the CD. I tried loading 3 times on my Windows 7 PC. I checked the Epson web site for a more recent driver but it appeared older than the one I was using. I finally just did a Windows updated and loaded the recommended driver to make it work. I haven't had this much trouble installing something since Win3 days. Never did get the wireless to work.
Pros: I am unable to write an pros about this printer as I was unable to complete the setup
Cons: I ran the set up disk and could not get a successful install. I ran the uninstall, and then tried with the web version. Same result. Unable to create print queue. Software update does not have any updates that help. I returned the printer to Sams Club
Summary: Let's just say you want to print something quickly before leaving the house... be prepared to wait about two minutes before the first sheet comes out. The good news is that it's still slow, but not painstakingly slow, once it's warmed up. Maybe I'm spoiled by my Brother MFC laser printer, but the Epson 645 is no speed demon.
Summary: Wow. What an agonizing setup experience. Poor instructions. Software doesn't cue or prompt correctly if it doesn't like your network/firewall settings. If you work in IT, you'll be fine after a few agonizing moments/hours. If not, just don't buy it. Update: Four hours and problem solved. Epson's diagnostics are much to be desired. However, once you get the printer setup it works fine...just expect problems on setup.
