Avoid this printer

Susan Tordella-williams "Chore Maven", Amazon
29 July 2013
  • Summary: The ink refills are exorbitant in cost and Epson makes it impossible to use generic ink. I HATE THIS PRINTER because of the high ink cost. I'm ditching it and getting one that can use cheap[er] ink. Otherwise, the printer functioned very well.

Not for office use

cmom, Amazon
26 February 2013
  • Summary: I bought this printer because of the ability to print double sided pages and for printing pictures. The double-sided printing feature worked for about 100 pages then started to jam every time I selected that feature. The printing is not high quality. You can't print more than 3 pages at a time, and you can only print one picture at a time from the port on the front of the unit. This was a waste of money.

"Wireless printing—NO; OSX Lion—NO"

tmac313, CNET
19 December 2012
  • Pros: Prints and scans when connected through USB
  • Cons: Have never been able to get consistent wi-fi connection to print from any of our computers...works first day and then that's it. Ink is EXPENSIVE and doesn't go far. Cannot install new driver(s) for Lion.

Ready to throw it out the window.

Kristi S., Amazon
23 April 2012
  • Summary: This printer prints clear, crisp images. However, the scan tool doesn't scan colors accurately. It is an elaborate process to change the settings and the one-button scanning is no longer an option if you want the color settings to be anything other than the factory presets. In addition, the printer will, for no apparent reason, stop "talking" with all the other computers in the house. The wifi feature, while convenient when it works, is a nuisance most of the time.

"CAUTION if you are using with OSX LION"

Cachencho, CNET
14 September 2011
  • Pros: Looks nice. That's about the only nice thing I can say, sadly.
  • Cons: Auto 2-sided printing not enabled on Lion. Level 2 Tech Support (Epson) could not figure it out. WiFi Scanning drivers never did install.

wasted 7 hours, wireless connection not working

Varvara1234, Amazon
8 August 2011
  • Summary: I spent 7 hours trying to set up this printer. I am pretty tech savvy. After 5 hours, trying to set it up on 2 Windows laptops and 1 Macbook pro, I could not get the printer to talk to the computers. I downloaded all the lates drivers also. My wirelss network is pretty standard and is working fine. I called Epson support. They were nice but useless. I think the software for making wireless conection in the printer must be defective. I am returing this all-in -one.

Great replacement for my old HP

Jon Konrath, Amazon
7 March 2011
  • Summary: I've had an HP PhotoSmart C5280 for about three years, and I figured that I could either buy my next two ink refills, or just buy another printer that had more of the features I wanted. I've been pretty happy with this printer so far. I haven't used all of its features yet, but I immediately tried out the big differences to make sure this would be a winner for me.
