Ink Problems

Dr Bernard Bookey, Amazon
5 December 2011
  • Summary: Epson Stylus SX415 All-in-One Printer (Individual Inks, 6.3cm LCD Viewer, Memory Card Slots) I bought the SX415 as a replacement for my now defunct Epson CX6400. The machine functions well, but inks are a problem.

Terrible printer.

oletorrisen, Amazon
3 October 2011
  • Summary: One of the worst printers I've ever had. Its totally OK for as long as it works. but be prepered, it won't last very long. After a few months it started demanding new ink cartridges, which was fine, I changed them.

Too many problems

Roey, Amazon
24 June 2011
  • Summary: I find so many things wrong with this product that I don't even want to go through the effort to go through all of it, but in summary: - This thing uses ink whether it's completely turned off or just idle. I've never used the color cartridges and they've just run out.

Scanner very good, Photos print good, text and letter print poor.

Roy Vicars "Watlingfen", Amazon
18 March 2011
  • Summary: I was forced to 'retire' my scanner and Epson Stylus 700 printer of long good service after changing my PC to a USB only job with Windows 7, so I opted for this scanner/printer, the scanner does a very good job and printing photos either from card directly or from the PC is very good; but it fails...

Not too bad, but wouldn't buy again

Jennywren, Amazon
7 January 2011
  • Summary: I was intially pleased with the printer; it looks good and is very easy to use. However, I quickly started having page 'feed' problems. This occurs very frequently, even though I place the paper in the printer very carefully. Sometimes it will happily print a few pages before developing the problem.

DONT BOTHER!

phil, Amazon
6 December 2010
  • Summary: I bought the sx415 a couple of months back after checking price, reviews and most importantly ink price, I now totally regret this choice; its noisy to the point it sounds like the diesel engine of a tractor starting up, fussy feeding, the first couple of weeks use i spent most of the time on my...

A word of warning about compatible inks

K. Chance "C*a*s*e*y", Amazon
27 November 2010
  • Summary: We all do it - buy compatible inks to save money. However, this little printer, as good as it is, seems to hate compatible inks (or at least the ones I bought) The first problem was the black stopped working completely even though all the colours were fine.

A waste of money

ippudo, Amazon
27 November 2010
  • Summary: Prior to this one, I had an HP all-in-one printer which was amazingly fast and efficient but unfortunately broke down after only a year - they sure don't build them like they used to. With the Epson, I have the feeling I'm going back 15 years to my first printer, a Lexmark.

Cost effective printer - Epson SX415

julwhite, Ciao
8 September 2010
  • Excerpt: This review is for the Epson SX415 inkjet colour printer, scanner and copier, making it a multi function machine. There is a newer version of this printer that's available, the Epson SX425, but this has the advantage that the price of this particular model is falling and can be obtained at a very...
  • Pros: Lots of features at a low price
  • Cons: Better for more occasional users

Super 3 in 1 unit

The Book Widow, Amazon
1 September 2010
  • Summary: I recently purchased the Epson Stylus SX415 3 in 1 unit. It does what it says on the tin. Good value for money. Good quality copies, etc. Photos good. Have not yet tried putting camera memory card in the unit as I usually do prints via my computer.
