Epson Stylus SX200: A valuable printer for a low price!
20 December 2013
Summary: I bought this one after my old Epson passed out after 6 years of use. I read lots of good reviews on the internet and so I decided to buy it. It is all in one printer with capability to copy B&W or Colour. It is equipped with four cartridges, one for each colour. So you can buy just the one colour when it has ran out (not a cartridge with four colours wasting the rest of the colours which haven't ran out. So this saves money!
Summary: I've had this printer for about 2 years, and have no complaints. It prints well and reliably, it scans well, and the one-touch 'photocopy' function (scan and print) is so convenient, it saves lots of trips to the library photocopier. It does get through the ink quite fast, but since it will take cheap generic cartridges this isn't a big problem. My biggest complaint would be that it is quite big and heavy.
Pros: prints and scans well, robust and reliable, easy to use
Cons: it's big and heavy, gets through the ink quite fast
Excerpt: "Good printer for everyday printing. Dissapointed that I cannot use it to print my greeting cards, never had a problem with my previous one, the Epsom 870C Stylus photo printer. It served me well for 6/7 years never had a problem. From an economic point of view, you cannotbeat Epson. I have compared with friends who have other makes of printers and cannot believe the amount of times they have to renew their cartridges, and they do very little graphics/colour ...
Summary: This was purchased for me as a christmas present, and is great, i have just run out of ink (the freebies that came with it), and am very impressed, the photos i print are just like getting them printed at a photo shop, make sure you use photo paper though. The initial setup of instaling the software onto computer was very quick and easy.
Summary: I have had a few different printers in my time but I have to say this is the fastest yet. It almost spits the paper out at you it's that fast. Prints out overall good quality, easy to change the ink cartrdges. A small fold out tray catches the paper so no mess on your floor. The scanner is really easy to use as well.
Pros: fast printing and scanning, easy to use
Cons: it scared me how fast and buisness like it was the first time I used it.
Summary: I upgraded my small business printer to an Epson Stylus SX200. I was particularly attracted to the smooth paper feed (I leave about 50 sheets in the top loading paper feed) and the quality good value ink. In fact very little goes wrong with this Epson, the only small mishap have been with not loading the paper accurately and causing a jam. Following the on screen instructions patiently mean you will not damage the printer- don't just pull the sheet out!
Pros: quality affordable ink
Cons: feed the paper accurately otherwise there will be jams
Excerpt: "I'm no tech wizard but this was extremely easy to install and packs down well when not in use with the pull out sections for paper. Excerpt: "...and that name was Epson. Epson for years now have been top of the field when it comes to printing from home and even their top of the range printers get full marks from the pro printers and photographers. I have very limited printing needs so when my eyes caught sight of the Epson SX200 I thought that it would be perfect and after several weeks of use I can honestly say I was correct. This printer makes it so easy to copy, scan, and print everything ...
Pros: Works fantastically well and is very inexpensive .
Summary: I bought this all in one printer a few months ago for £80. I got this particular printer because I had used Epson before and had no problems with them. I also liked the look of the printer because of its glossy black finish on the scanner lid. I checked the price of ink for a few printers I was looking at and found the ink for this printer to be cheaper than others. It takes 4 ink cartridges. The software that came with the printer was easy to install.
