Epson Stylus SX200: All-In-One Convenience But Pricey Ink
17 October 2013
Summary: I bought this Epson Stylus SX200 printer, copier, and scanner when my previous photo printer stopped working. That had also been an Epson and it was an excellent printer so I decided to go with that brand again and an all-in-one model to save space. The Product --------------- The Epson Stylus SX200 allows you to scan, photocopy and print photos and documents in colour or black and white.
Pros: Saves space, convenient, good quality, multi-function.
Summary: Introduction:- We have had our Epson Stylus SX200 printer for around 2 years it was a second hand purchase from E-bay based on having the experience of used my parents' printer of the same model for an extended period with good results and no problems. The Epson SX200 is advertised as an all in one given the fact that as well as being a printer it is also a photocopier, and scanner.

Epson Stylus SX200: Meet Harold, the heavy metal printer.

Summary: This is one of two Epson printers we have in our house. The reason I bought this one was because I needed a good quality printer which could also scan and photocopy... but I wanted one which was reasonable to buy ink for, as printers are quite cheap these days, the companies try to claw back money through ink sales. I was wandering through Tesco not looking for a printer when I noticed this one. It was £35 at the time which was a special offer.
Summary: I purchased this printer for £69 from Tesco when I was studying computing. I was very impressed with the look of it. It's attractive and looks more expensive than it was. This printer takes individual ink cartridges, which is good. The ink seems to last a reasonable length of time. A guide is provided but I would say it's relatively straightforward to use. As a computing student I used it a great deal.
Pros: Cost. Attractiveness
Cons: A bit noisy, Loading paper can be troublesome
Summary: I'll preface this review with the usual warning that I'm not particularly technical and this review is given purely from a user's perspective. I've included the technical specification at the end of the review for anyone who cares to read it. When my faithful little ten year old Canon bubble jet printer gave up the ghost about a year ago, and after several unsuccessful attempts to revive it, it became very clear I needed a replacement.
Summary: The Epson Stylus SX200 is a useful all in one inkjet printer which also features a scanner and digital camera printer facilities. A relatively modest priced option, the stylus is very efficent. Whilst the starting price, usually around £100, may seem high, the stylus is very cheap to run. You will probably save money with this printer compared to other cheaper ones because of the price of ink and the printer's efficency when using it. The prints turn out well too.
Pros: Cheap to run
Cons: Quite loud and a tad slow (especially scanner)
Excerpt: "In my opinion the price is economical and the setup is easy and fast. Have to be careful with loading paper as I have experienced paper jams sometimes. The printing speed is very good and the colour is excellent. Did not print in black when it ran out of colour ink for some reason. All in all though it is quite reliable and good value for money.I think the only drawbacks are the price of the replacement inks and the fact that it is not wifi. A USB ...
Pros: Fast, easy to set up, scans and prints photos and photocopies
Epson Stylus SX200 - Very Impressive for the tiny price tag.

Excerpt: "I purchased this printer partly due to the ever increasing costs of ink for my old HP and partly as it was very cheap (£34.99) Its has now been in use for 3 months and performs well for your average family needs. The copy function is simple to use, just select the number of copies and press either colour or B/W button and away it goes. It was easy to set up and install both with windows and MAC OS using the supplied cd rom. Print speed is surprisingly ...
Pros: Lost cost, Affordable ink refils, easy to use and set up .
Excerpt: "this printer is a very easy printer to use when printing pictures from a digital camera sim card the print quality is the best ive come accross and it does not take long to print. the best thing about this printer is the ink cartridges, they are sold seperately so you dont need to go and buy a colour cartridge every time you just need to get the colour that has run out. this works out to be alot cheaper. the printer will also let you know how much ...
Pros: print quality and ease of printing from sim card
