Excerpt: the epson sx 130 is an absolute pain. It never workes right, it is hard to install-and-print, it robs you of your money and it makes your life extremely difficult by forcing you to buy ink on sunday evenings (when every ink shop is closed) right before your deadline simply because it demands you have all 4 color cartridges with ink before it will print black !!! Can you imagine that?
Summary: I bought an Epson SX130 in December 2011. I found it continually temperamental but persevered with it as my usage was very light and intermittent. The quality of the output was dismal after the Canon I had previously used for a number o years. Now after less than 21 months of very light usage it has given up.
Excerpt: I usually buy printers based on the price tag since I am not too much of a tech wiz. This printer surprised me since i managed to get it for only 30 pounds and the ink was not too expensive either. Well, all was going well with the printer, no problems whatsoever with it, until it ran out of ink. I needed to do a scan of an important document for the following day and this was the second time I had used the all-in-one to do a scan, however I had ran out of blue ink.
Excerpt: I have brought this printer after my old printer suddenly stopped working. I paid around £30 for it as I was on a tight budget. The size of the printer is pretty small. It fits under my computer desk very easily without any problems. What's included: > Printer & Scanner (All in one) > USB cable > Mains Plug > Installation disk > Starter cartridges -- Installation -- Setting the printer up was very simple.
Summary: the printer arrived quickly and it was fairly easy to install but after few printing it stopped working and now every time i have to print something i need to uninstall and reinstall the software... luckily the scanner, which is the one we needed more, seems to work properly... fingers crossed! I wouldn't recommend this product, I am sure that for the same price (or little more) you can find a much better deal!
Summary: Strike that title: this is a dysfunctional printer. It is without question the worst printer I have ever owned. It is absurdly noisy and slow. Its output, particularly black, is rubbish, even with brand-new cartridges. Unless I'm missing something I cannot see a way to change a cartridge until the system detects that the relevant unit is spent.
Summary: My advice to everyone is not to buy this printer. I've had it a year and it's just completely died on me. I'm a university student so I need a printer but can't afford an expensive one or one with really pricey ink so I thought this was perfect for me. Up until yesterday I had only had a couple of problems with it, it wasn't printing very well a couple of weeks ago but it more of annoyance that anything else for about a day before it started working fine again.
