Summary: We're on our second of this printer model. We use it almost entirely for photo printing (we use a laser for most other printing). We did consider other makes and models when the need for a replacement arose but decided to stick with the printer we knew and have had very good results with.My own opionion is that the P50 would be very hard to beat as an affordable A4 photo printer.
Summary: Great value for money printer. All I have to do was to calibrate my computer screen and buy Epson photo paper to print good quality photos. Although the colour in the photos it's is not exactly as in the computer screen I'm very happy with the result. If you want to use better quality epson paper or to print A3 photos this printer is no for you, otherwise I will strongly recommended .
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time
Summary: The main advantage of this printer is the straight paper feed. Unlike printers with paper cassettes you can use any length of paper. This along with the outstanding six ink photo printing make it ideal for panoramic prints.
Pros: Can Use Panoramic Paper, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time
Summary: This is my fourth or fifth P50. I use them for printing on DVD as well as general jobs. The Epson software stops the printer working after 12,000 prints therefore a new one is required or a service which is a similar cost. The printer works really well and for heavy users is easy to convert to a continuous ink system which makes printing very cheap!
Pros: Compact Design, Continuous Ink, Easy To Use
Cons: Epson Software Counter, Printer Driver Problems, Slow Print Time
Summary: Don't rely on the instructions but look at the many you tube videos - then it is easy. Make sure you check which order the cartridges are coupled up in - mine were in the wrong order and created psychedelic colours initially! The cartridges don't fit as snuggly as the original and I had to put a small piece of modelling wood inside to hold the latches in place. But the outputs are just as good as traditional cartridges and I am saving a fortune!!
Summary: Using it for my City & Guilds course. Need to set it up with the monitor properly - not easy. Seems to be getting through the ink quite quickly - i would have liked a bigger capacity in each refill. However, it does produce lovely quality prints.
Excerpt: "...a little research on the Epson website I decided on the Epson Stylus Photo P50, an inkjet printer which Epson claims will produce ‘better than lab quality’ photo prints up to A4 size with borderless technology as well as fulfilling all my requirements. After a little more research I found Play.com were selling the P50 for a very reasonable £64.99, snapped it up and have been using it daily for the last 6 months. ===Setting Up=== The P50 arrived ...
