Don't buy if you are mostly going to print in black.

Summary: This printer is a real rip off if you mostly print in black. It runs out of color ink, and even with a nice full black cartridge, and a print job that is only black text it will flat out refuse to print until you spend $$$ on color cartridges you don't want or need. So now I have a print job I desperately need to print, and I'm going to have to take a disk to a copy shop rather than use the printer sitting right here full of black ink.
Summary: The functionality is fine....it's the cost of the printer cartridges that do not last any time at all. And if one of the cartridges runs low, the printer will not print at all even if you're not using that color...and there are 4 cartridges. There is no warning about a low cartridge so when it stops you're stuck.....until you can go buy more of the expensive things. Stay away..a low price on the printer means nothing.
Summary: Based on the Amazon reviews, I ordered this printer...and I have been so disappointed. First, it is a very noisy printer. (I use Brothers elsewhere in the house and that's my comparison.) Second, I was never able to install it wirelessly. Finally, it jams constantly. Just now, I'm on the phone with Epson service. Have been cleaning heads for what must be 30 minutes...we keep cleaning heads and I'm told we need to do this process six times.
Summary: Okay, I want to make a couple of points for anyone considering buying this printer. The printer works about as well as you could expect for the price, though it constantly runs out of ink with only moderate use, even the so-called high capacity black ink cartridge - by the way, in the printer utility, you can check an option that will allow you to continue printing in black when one of the colors runs out.
Summary: We've had this printer for over a year, and this thing decides when it wants to work. As of right now, we have no been able to use the wireless print function for over a month. I have a Macbook and my boyfriend's laptop operates on Windows. I wish I could say this is an uncommon event, but this happens regularly where we cannot print anything. This is exceptionally upsetting since we are both students and rely on it to complete our coursework.
Summary: This printer is a huge disappointment. I've had numerous Epson products over the last 20 years and this is a real low point. The quality is very poor and the promised performance is a myth. The printer is almost totally made of plastic. It is flimsy and lacks s feel of substance. It comes out of the box pretty much ready for set-up, a few packing pieces to remove and a few tape pieces to remove.
Summary: I have had so many printers over the years, I have lost count. Expensive.. to inexpensive. And this one is just a POS. Seriously. I do enjoy the scanner feature, it's nice to make copies as well. But I have NEVER had a printer that jammed so often. It's a nightmare. Constantly curling the corners of my paper, and then jamming. I inspect every sheet it seems now, to make sure they are perfectly flat before I load the tray. I make sure the sides are fitted... everything.
Summary: First, Epson lies: you may only need to replace the ink color cartridge that's empty, but regardless of color, it will not print if it reads ANY cartridge as empty. Even if you need only to print black; if, for example, yellow is empty, it won't print. If you leave it with the error message "replace ink cartridge" on for a while it will change "cannot recognize cartridge" and then it will not scan or do any other function of an "all-in-one.
