Summary: Based on the Amazon reviews, I ordered this printer...and I have been so disappointed. First, it is a very noisy printer. (I use Brothers elsewhere in the house and that's my comparison.) Second, I was never able to install it wirelessly. Finally, it jams constantly.
Summary: Okay, I want to make a couple of points for anyone considering buying this printer. The printer works about as well as you could expect for the price, though it constantly runs out of ink with only moderate use, even the so-called high capacity black ink cartridge - by the way, in the printer...
Summary: This printer is a huge disappointment. I've had numerous Epson products over the last 20 years and this is a real low point. The quality is very poor and the promised performance is a myth. The printer is almost totally made of plastic. It is flimsy and lacks s feel of substance.
any 1 cartridge thinks it's low = machine shutdown
Kashala H., Newegg
15 June 2011
Summary: This MFC would get a good review save for this one misguided ink marketing shenanigan. Buy from some manufacturer who merely gouges on ink price.
Pros: + piezoelectric (DOD) ink delivery(fast) + fair price for functionality (assuming it functions) + supports all 3 important connectivities: cabled ethernet, wireless, USB
Cons: Bought one at a local big box for ease of return should it have this problem. It does. If any one of the four cartridges is measured as "low" by the system all printing capabilities are disabled. I got burned on this ink-purchase entrapment by another brand (that one disabled all MFC functions in...
Summary: I have 2 Canon printers that have lasted one >18 months and the other >3yrs. Jets/nozzles are clean and they work perfect. Recommendation=Skip Epson and go look at Canon printers, you will be glad you did and sorry if you don't.
Pros: Epson printers seem like a good deal and look nice.
Cons: Had 2 epson printers and they both stopped working in about the same time frame 15-16 months. Jets do not clean well and get clogged. They also sucker you in by disabling the use of the printer when a color cartridge runs out. You can't use it again until you go buy and replace the cartridge. =scam
IC Chip and Epson -- laughing all the way to the bank
18 November 2010
Summary: Read ConsumerAffairs on Epson and the number of people essentially stranded by Epson's IC chip failures to recognize new ink cartridge. I'm astounded this company can stay in business with so many ticked off people walking around. Today, I am one of them.
Summary: What a piece of JUNK. Always jams..it will even say it's jammed with no paper in it. Won't even recognize its own ink brand!! Don't bother trying others either. Hope you like feeding it too..1/2 cartridge of use before its says that the ink is empty and will not allow you to continue printing.
Summary: This printer was a joy to set up - easy to connect to my wireless network and could print to it from both PC and Macintosh. Why one star? Simple - The cartridges. They randomly will lock up the printer with the message " Cartridge not recognized".
Summary: I will never buy Epson again. Even when you are using only black ink to print it won't print if any other color is out. You have to change all the black and color ink cartridges. It gets very expensive.
