Solution for no printing at all when only one cartridge is low
25 October 2012
Summary: I don't use it often, but it fits the bill when I do need it. Except when the cyan ink ran low. I had loads of black ink - which is all I need. Couldn't print a thing - I know this is a common problem. I'm certainly going to be adding this to my list of things to ask about before buying a new printer. I found a solution I am trying right now: [...] Just remove the spaces, or if the link doesn't show, look up trick epson ink cartridges in your browser. Good Luck!
Summary: This is probably the worst printer ever. Within one week of my purchase, it broke. It doesn't print things correctly. When you put new ink cartridges into it the printer rejects them. DO NOT BUY IT. This printer sucks!!!! I hate it so much. The wireless part is a scam. It doesn't work! If you are in the other room and try to print something absolutely nothing will happen. When you print documents the printer skips some lines. I HATE IT SO MUCH! I HATE IT SO MUCH!
Summary: Although most of these reviews are about problems with the ink...and make no mistake that is one of the huge problems with this printer...I have had countless other problems using this piece of junk as well. Besides needing a full ink cartridge in every color in order to print anything, it also tells me that I'm out of paper when there is plenty, goes offline and has to be set up to the computer all over again, and requires me to cross my fingers and pray pray pray for...
Summary: Very disappointing. Started out nice. Prints very fast but once you have to start replacing cart. nothing worked. I even ordered new ones and it wouldn't recognize the cartridges. Called service desk and they told me it was out of warranty by a month but I could get a new one through the customer loyalty program? They had nothing under $150 like I had and the NX515 is longer available. Avoid this line of printers. Avoid Epson as well. A waste of time and money.
Excerpt: The Epson NX 510 is the greatest home office product I have ever used! I had always thought wireless printers were an unnecessary and expensive luxury, until my roommate found a great deal at Sam's Club on the Espon all-in-one. It is extremely convenient to be on the computer upstairs, hit print, and grab your paper on your way out the door. There is no more walking to the printer, finding the USB cable, waiting for connection and then printing.
Summary: The printer arrived with "generic" ink cartridges which had leaked all over the cartridge case. The printer reported that it did not recognize the cartridges. Since I once experienced a ruined printer from leaking generic cartridges, I tried to clean it up but was afraid to use up expensive genuine Epson cartridges for fear that the spill would damage the printer.
Summary: I purchased this printer with a new laptop two years ago. It has been quite a workhorse for a home-based office printer. Quality of print/copy is very good and the printing speed is quite acceptable for a unit of this price point. However, I agree with the comments about the printer being INOP when one ink cartridge runs out. This should be noticed by EPSON and solved through a software patch.
Summary: Mine is the NX530, but it's similar ot this one. Worst printer I have ever owned. Inconsistent drivers only ever worked on one of my laptops, and never on my Macbook. Build quality is terrible. Avoid this like the plague. I thought I'd never be saying it, but my previous $50 HP all in one was better than this piece of junk.
Summary: Do not buy! The ink prices are really expensive and the ink goes quick. The whole printer locks up when you are out of one color of ink. Stay away. I will never buy another epson after my experience with this printer.
Epson NX510 ink is expensive and printer is unreliable

Summary: I've never had a printer be so unreliable and nag me so much about this and that. Ink prices are more than the printer, so don't even worry about what you pay for the actual device - it's the ink. And it really doesn't even function properly if you try to use non-Epson ink. It frequently spit ink out on the edges of my pages and often the blacks were low quality so you'd get lines through photos. Draft mode on it is worthless - the blacks don't print.
