Summary: I loved this printer. It was my first Epson product and I worked it to death. It produced wonderful photos which was the reason why I tried it. I had heard great thoughts on how it printed. I was loathe to give it up, but did for a more sophisticated model.
Summary: I had abandoned Epson years ago and switched to Lexmark printers because of the great "deals" that could be had. I decided to give up on Lexmark because of all the problems I've encountered with their printers. You get what you pay for I suppose.
Pros: Product was super easy to setup right out of the box. Copier and scanner are great to have. Scan options included in the software are fantastic; scanner works really well on pictures - I've scanned quite a few old photos and used Picasa from Google to retouch/restore the quality. I've used this t...
Cons: It is kind of loud, and ink is used up pretty quickly when printing color pictures. Saying that though...I've had the printer for about 6 months, and I've printed about 20 photos, and 50ish text/project pages, and I'm just getting down to the bottom of the original ink cartridge.
Summary: Of course, Epson installs printer software that runs in the background and eats up resources, but it is rather useful and provides you with a lot more information then the standard Windows printing window.
Pros: Great printer. Got it the day before I needed to print out a bunch of resumes and it really saved my life.
Cons: I didn't intend to use any features other then the printer, but now I'm randomly finding things that need copying or scanning, and those features work well too. Now all my housemates want to use it and I'm worried I'll run out of ink fast.
Summary: Be sure to use Epson ink, I know it is more expensive but the Chinese ink knock offs clot and causes all kinds of problems. Also, to all of you that think it is bad that you can't print if one of the inks are out, they do that so the reservoir does not dry up while you are printing with the black.
Pros: Fast printing great quality print. For the price this thing is exceptional. Took my SDHC card without any problems and the display is fantastic, a computer is not even needed. I always print on text image setting and it prints fast with great quality.
Summary: I really don't know what the other folks are talking about here when they complain about it being noisy and rattling their tables. The actually printing process is almost totally silent. Same with the ink useage: don't believe the complaints.
Pros: Nice design. Moderately fast. Really an excellent value for the price. The installation of the printer and drivers were a "no brainer". The user interface is extremely friendly. The quality of the prints are great. The actual printing process was very smooth and quiet. The flat bed scanner is a d...
Cons: The "draft" setting produces copies that are totally unusable. It makes quite a bit of noise as it intially "grabs" the paper (but that is bearable). The ink cartridges are rather small in volume.
