Summary: I suppose as far as aesthetics and quality goes, this is a fairly decent printer. However, for those on a budget, don't be drawn in by its low price. If any of the color cartridges is out of ink, the printer will not even print all black text, even if the black cartridge if full.
Summary: This printer / scanner is cheap but not of very good quality. Its incredibly loud and jerky. Paper loading is terrible. And if any of the ink cartridges go out, the whole printer is unusual - ie if you run out of a single color ink, the printer can't even print in black and white.
Summary: I can confirm that reviews about ink being costly and quickly consumed are true! You could buy a new printer each time you need ink for less money than replacing all 4 cartridges. In addition - it is loud, the tray where the paper comes out broke the first month I owned the printer.
Summary: I have always liked Epson printers. However, this one has been nothing but disappointment. Its black and white printing is okay, but it is extremely inconsistent in print quality for color prints. I often have to print the same picture several times before getting one that is acceptable.
Summary: Bought this Epson nx415 to replace my previous all-in-one Canon printer that quit working after replacing the ink for the first time. Sadly, this printer did the exact same thing. First, the ink that came with it lasted about 3 months, and I hardly ever used it.
Summary: I do not recommend this product, or ANY Epson printer, because even if you have a full black and white cartridge, the printer will not print unless all of the color cartridges are also full, even if you are not using them. Also, Epson has chosen to pursue un-American business practices.
Summary: We bought this printer as a replacement for a Canon PIXMA 4200 (which was about the same price). Boy, what a disappointment! This printer is far behind the Canon in photo print quality. We use the best photo paper and highest res. photos and still only get so-so quality photo prints.
Summary: This printer (Epson Sylus CX5000) is fine EXCEPT I am having to change the ink cartridges way too frequently. I do not use the printer any more than the average home user. Trouble is that once the ink level gets below a certain point, it just stops printing.
Summary: My last printer was also an Epson but it went the way of all flesh. Not the seller's fault, but this model is a bummer ... agonizing noises as paper literally shoots through it and I really do not trust it. I'm glad the price was right!!
