epson ink problems

have an epson nx100, just replaced all ink cartriges but it is reading that all ink is empty. have checked that they are all in right. what could it be?

Epson Stylus NX100 (excessive ink usage)

Is it just me or does the Epson Stylus NX100 use a lot of ink. I don't even use the colors and yet I am already out of yellow. Have only had the machine for 5 weeks and have had to replace the black 3 times. Yet I only print about 5 sheets per day. confused!
