You can't print anything when any cartridge runs out of ink....
20 February 2010
Excerpt: This major inability would have swayed me from purchasing this product in the first place. The printer contains 4 cartridges - one black, and then three coloured cartridges. When any one out of the 4 cartridges needs replacing you'll be unable to do any further printing! This is listed as the last item on the Epson FAQs page (20/02/2010).
Excerpt: This printer has served me well for over 12 months and will continue to as well...I have printed 1000 business cards and flyers of this printer. The only downside I have come across is trying to print onto 250gsm glossy paper, It dont like it and refuses to work.
Excerpt: I bought the printer for my daughter. She quickly returned the printer to me after loads of problems running out of inks, when she had hardly used it. She swapped it for my old HP. Anyway I bought a new set of cartridges and have not printed a sheet of paper. Couldnt get it to print.
Excerpt: I bought this printer for a bargain price at Tesco's December 2007 and it is the best combination printer/scanner that I have ever used. One of my main contentions with modern inkjet printers is the cost of the ink cartridges, and the fact that in the usual three colour ink cartridge when only one of the ink colours have run out you are forced to replace the cartridge wasting the remaining two colours - not economical and defiantly NOT environmentally friendly!
Excerpt: I found this printer to be extremely easy to use. It was extremely easy to load onto my laptop, has an easy to use manual and is relatively cheap. I have used the epson stylus to print photographs, which were of excellent quality, I have also printed DVD covers, invitations and general text which were all of a hight standard. I have also used the scanner option which I thought was excellent.
Pros: Cheap & easy to use
Cons: A little bulky for the small home office & printing is a little slow !
Excerpt: I would not recommend this printer. I bought one and had to replace it twice as it stopped working. I tried to get help from Epson technical support but they did not seem too sure how to fix the problem, and I ended up with all instructions being in german which did not help with problem solving.
Excerpt: I've updated this Quick review to a standard review after a few days of using this printer. Rather than filling the text with all the technical data, which you can read elsewhere, I have concentrated on the user experience. If you want the technical data then here is the link to Epson: http://www.epson.co.uk/printers/durabrite_general_printers/Epson- Stylus-DX7400-printer.htm I bought this printer Saturday and am blown away.
Pros: A great all round printer copier for an excellent price
Cons: Memory cards from some cameras may not be supported
Excerpt: Paper is difficult to load and today it prints so badly I would never buyone again. Another fault is it stops printing when only one colour is empty so even for letter I have to go and buy colour before I can use it.
Excerpt: I get this printer about a month ago and it have been a really good product. The printing is good, but as always, the paper you use have a big impact in the final outcome. The results I have get do far haven't been really good, but the paper I have use wasn't been the best. So I expect to get better results with a better paper. The scanner is good, and the program have three programs or ways to print depending on the experience and knowledge the user have on printing.
Excerpt: Very disappointed in this printer. Very noisy. Draft quality is not really very good. And other option seems to be the perfect one. So no in between quality which I had with old printers. Tried to refill ink cartridge and was shocked to find it is of the variety where you cannot just do this. Need to either purchase a device to fool the printer! Or download something from the internet, which I went to do, but could not find the download for my exact model.
