Do you want a slow printer which breaks easily? No? Oh...

  • Excerpt: Where do I start with this printer? This was the first multifunction printer which we ever had. We bought it as my Mom was setting up her own business and wanted to print out lots of leaflets to drop through letterboxes. When we first got it home we tried setting it up. That was a hasstle. The drivers on the disc didn't seem to want to work with our computer.
  • Pros: When it does actually print, it does a decent job
  • Cons: Slow setup, slow printing, outdated, breaks

Unless you like the feeling of rage building up when printing, you should avoid this.

Look elsewhere for a better quality all-in-one printer

  • Excerpt: I had to buy only one printer for me to do my secondary school work on and you would have thought that as it has lasted me this long it would be a good sign. However, it is such a bad printer that I have virtually stopped using it and now only print in emergencies. The print quality is poor at best and colours often saturate the page rather than giving a clean finish.

Don't buy...you'll be dissapointed!

  • Excerpt: This has to be the worst inkjet printer I've ever had! This is a pity, because I've had several Epson printers in the past, and all these have served their purpose without problem. At a basic level, it offers a printer, scanner and copier (though as with most of these devices, the copier is a combination of the scanner and printer). Firstly, the printing is of very poor quality.

Epson Stylus DX4450

  • Excerpt: The printer itself is a brilliant buy for the price tag of £35. It suits the need of a household printer and also does good quality photos and has handy quick touch photocopy buttons. Also it benefits from a very simple scanner. It is relatively slow and quite noisy but personally this doesn't bother me at all. What is annoying is Epson's ink strategy!
  • Pros: Cheap; Does the Job Well
  • Cons: Loud; Slowish; Ink - block !

good for odd jobs but not for mass printing

  • Excerpt: To be perfectly honest i keep expecting this printer to pack in at any moment because it's sold at a very cheap price compared to the mass majority of printers, but with all credit to the print it keeps printing at the same quality when i first bought it just under two years ago. The printer is very easy to install, use and also maintain, so you don't need to be a computer geek to use it. Cartridges can be bought cheaply and installed very easily and quickly.

  • Excerpt: I bought this at the end of last year and although i was originally going to buy a different printer ihad already decided it was going to be an Epson. This was on offer at £30 and although i didn't need an all-in one particularly as it was ny first ever printer i snapped it up. Bit bulky for my box room but that's not a major problem. I don't deal with setting up technology very well so there were a few problems butother than that it was pretty easy.

ok for £30,

  • Excerpt: The Epson Stylus Dx4450 looked great at just £30 from Tesco. After owning several Epson printers, my last one costing over £200, with less features than this model, i was more than happy spending £30 on this printer. On Looks its not bad at all really. It is a bit chunky but this is to be expected for an all in one inkjet solution. The printer worked well for about a month, the paper then stated getting jamed.

Epson Stylus DX4500

BirchCraf..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: My Epson CX3200 did a lot of excellent work for years until the red light came on indicating a scanner error - a common error, it seems. The nearest Express Centre declared that its life had ended so sold me a DX4450 as being "similar" and a replacement for the CX3200. I bought it without researching and based on my Epson experience. Bad move! It packed up after minimal use in the first six weeks and was replaced.
  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: Very noisy, very slow, cumbersome to use
