Epson printers will not print if ANY cartidge is out of ink.
16 August 2012
Summary: After having this printer for a while I found that it stops printing if any cartridge goes empty. If ANY one color cartridge goes empty, even if you set the print properties to black only, and even if your entire document is black, and even if the black cartridge is completely full, doesn't matter - still this printer will refuse to print. I think all Epson printers do this now. Seems Epson is trying too hard to sell ink.
Summary: Most of the other reviews are accurate on this one. Guzzles ink like crazy. Also, if you don't print at least a few times a day, there will be streaks in the ink on your printout. To solve, you have to perform a nozzle clean (pretty much every couple of days) which uses up even more ink. Plan on replacing your cartridge every 150 pages or so. I've heard this about most epson printers.
Summary: First of all I want to say thank you to this company for making everything right They went way out of threir way to make sure the buyer was happy and I respect that. These times and days no one really cares anymore after they pocket the money but not this company in my eye they are one of the best on the net and I am happy to know they will be around a long to to provide you with some quality equipment in electronics and many many other areas I salute you being a marine...
Summary: I wish had read the reviews before I purchased this printer. I was looking for a printer, fax and scanner all in one. This seemed to meet all my needs, however, it uses ink like crazy. 30 pages for one black ink cartridge! Well I begrudgingly replaced the black cartridge and then very soon after two color cartridges went out - no biggie I said...I only print in black & white.
Summary: The ink level monitoring on this piece of junk is the worst! Poor speed, poor quality, horrible ink consumption...total waste! Please do not buy an Epson...they really really do not care about you. This is my second Epson, only because they replaced the first piece of garbage under warranty. I will never support Epson again.
Summary: Print quality is ok, speed is ok. Those are about all the positive comments I am going to leave. Basically this thing burns through ink like no tomorrow. Once out of JUST ONE COLOR it refuses to print anything else. EVEN BLACK AND WHITE. I spent over an hour trying to coax this printer into printing B&W when the color ink was empty and it wouldn't do it. This is shameful and should be illegal. Do not buy. Do not even accept as a gift.
Summary: This is a good printer to have if u are doing very minimal work.. it is an ink guzzler bcuz the ink cartridges are small and when one ink cartridge in out of ink the printer wont prints until u replace the one that is out..
Summary: This thing runs out of ink constantly. If you go a month without printing the heads clog and you have to clean them 10 time which empties out all your cartridges. Worst of all, you can't print black and white with low color. What a scam! The thing could print, but they intentionally designed it prevent you from printing black and white when you are low on color to force you to buy more carts. Clear and simple fraud. I hate this printer.
Summary: Bought this a few years back and for the vast majority of it's life now, it's sat on my desk with empty cartridges. In a pinch this last winter I gave in and purchased $50 worth of new OEM high capacity cartridges however suddenly my jet nozzles became clogged (wasn't printing right) and had to do the cleaning process geez about 15 times before it finally cleaned itself up. Problem is, by the time it was clean, THE NEW CARTRIDGES WERE NEARLY EMPTY!!
