This printer drinks too much ....... :-/
16 August 2014
Summary: The function set of this printer is very nice, and the "footprint" is compact. The CD/DVD print & envelope print functions work well with the exception that the prompting is a little involved. The included software works well . The reason I give this printer only a two-star rating is the consumables cost - A set of XL cartridges costs over $100 and while 99% of my printing is "black only" I have found that the printer uses a considerable amount of the (5) color ink...
Summary: This is the 3rd one of these I've had. Epson finally sent me a NEW one this time instead of the re-furbished ones they usually send out for replacement printers. I'm hoping they have fixed the ink distribution system in the newer one. The other ones would go thru the starter cartridges just fine, but the nightmare started when you tried to replace them with regular cartridges. Never would give me a clean nozzle check after that! No good prints, either.
Summary: When my XP-350 works, it produces very good quality photo prints - crisp, good color & detail. Text quality has not been as crisp as my other brand all-in-one printer. Unfortunately within the last 6 months I have had to return 2 XP-350s to Epson for replacement. In both cases the print head malfunctioned. I am hoping number 3 is the charm. Customer Service has been excellent, but I would like no more problems.

Wastes Ink, Print Head clogs irretrievably; otherwise a decent All in One

Summary: This All in one is worth at least 4 stars when it works. Print Heads continually need to have the Cleaning a Cycle performed. Not clear to me if this is a problem with the hardware or with the 277 ink which is unique to this printer and the XP-950. Cleaning uses a tremendous among of ink and this waste becomes expensive.
Excerpt: Not as user friendly as my previous non-Epson. To print envelopes you have to empty the paper feeder and adjust feed guides. Not required with previous printer. Also doesn't print USPS address bar codes. Other functions are also more complicated. I don't understand why they designed it this way.
Summary: (Initial review Feb, 2014) Bought new. Initially promising given rather intuitive touchscreen. Not much good to say after that. Printer worked well for only one month, but required re-boots frequently. Now the machine is entirely unresponsive. Lights blinking but the LCD screen is entirely blank. Customer service claims it is a "Total Hardware Failure" and says will be replaced with a reconditioned machine as the initial is under warrantee.
Excerpt: This printer does not get accurate color, especially black, gray and green in photos. Photos otherwise sharp and bright. A shame Epson can't get this problem fixed. Otherwise good printer for home office.
