Used the Epson XP0850 for just 3 months before giving up on it

Summary: Decided to try Epson after finding my older HP Office Jet was too fussy about paper type and would jam frequently. I work from home and print lots of PowerPoints. After using the Epson printer for just a few months, it printed everything pink toned. I replaced the cartridges several times (wasting ink) and it still made everything pink! I found myself going to Staples or Kinkos to print things for work that I should have been able to print from home.
Summary: My wife and I were in the market for a new printer, did our research and came to the conclusion that the XP-850 would serve our purposes. After the initial ink cartridges were used up, we purchased Epson replacement cartridges and quickly discovered that we had stumbled into an ink cartridge blackhole. Once replaced, different cartridges began to print incomplete lines when we ran nozzle checks.
Summary: I bought an XP-850 4 months ago; I use it overall but want / need the photo printing aspect. It lasted about 2 months and Epson sent another one. That has lasted until a week ago and the photo printing went to heck on that one as well. I just got the third one. I like Epson printers in general and we have two others - including a wide format model for printing my larger photos which I sell. I need a reliable all in one photo printer and this does not do it.
Summary: i this is my fourth epson printer and they have always been a great printer. my last printer RX700 i had for 7yrs never had a problem. still works but replaced it because the only place to get ink is from epson tried of paying for shipping. i reset the counter twice on that printer and still printed a great photo.
Summary: I am calling Epson on Monday 3/17/2014, AGAIN. Heads plugged Again! This will be the 4TH PRINTER REPLACEMENT IN 5 MONTHS WITH PLUGED PRINT HEADS, ONE SENT TO ME WITH PLUGED HEAD. WORST PRINTER I HAVE EVER OWNED. (I have never put anything but the original Epson ink in it) UPDATE Got the replacement today and installed. so far OK. Except the initial setup used over ½ the ink. Absolute Junk.
Excerpt: Last Friday March 7, 2014 I went to my local Staples to pick up the printer. The box was broken in 4 places. I refused to accept it, and the store manager agreed with me. The printer is a delicate instrument, and I would never accept anything in that condition. Even if it looked good after examining it I would would not feel comfortable with it.
Summary: Worst printer I ever owned. An ink Vampire. Rear feed slot for single sheet has not worked on THREE of these printers!. Original unit was exchanged for a replacement after one week: used all the ink cleaning print heads. 7 months later 2nd unit: I cleaned the print heads over five times in one day; then it quit printing. It would not recognize an Epson ink cartridge. So Epson exchanged it for the 2nd time. First thing, I had to clean the brand new print heads.
Summary: Worked just OK the first few months, then it all went down hill. Replaced cartridges for the first time and the print quality was horrendous. Lines throughout the text, incorrect colors printed, etc. Tech support had us clean the heads. Wasted a ton of ink. Cleaned them again. Wasted more. It hasn't printed anything correctly for two months now. Just replaced with a set of brand new (expensive) ink cartridges. The print quality is atrocious.
Summary: This printer worked great for almost two months and then one of the nozzles clogged. EPSON sent me a "new" printer (refurbished), but the black ink wouldn't print. After an hour with tech support, they are sending me another black cartridge. Every time you change a cartridge, and there are six individual units, the printer charges all of the ink, wasting all of the other colors. This printer is a real money pit. I think this was a horrible purchase.
