Summary: This was such a disappointing purchase for me. I've had several Epson printers in the past 12 years and have met varying degrees of satisfaction from them. I read initial reviews that praised the Artisan 700 for it's print quality and features, thus made the purchase after quite some deliberation. Pros: - Scanning is acceptable and has decent results compared to past Epson scanners I've owned. - Using Epson paper with their Claria ink results in excellent photo prints.
Not a solution for less expensive studio printing...

Summary: I do studio and action photography. I wanted an inexpensive printer that I could use in place of sending them off to a local studio for about $5.00 for every 8x10, $1.99 for a 5x7, and $.29 for a 4x6. This is not the answer...let me say that again, not the printer that you want for pro or semi-pro photography. After 23 8x10 prints, the Light Magenta cartridge is out. After 28 8x10 prints, the Light Cyan cartridge is out.
Summary: My husband bought me this printer for Christmas. We thought this would be the perfect printer for digital scrapbooking. Not so much. If you are looking for a printer that does a nice job on greeting cards, this would suffice. I thought the card reader was a nice addition, but my tower has a card reader in it also.
