Summary: Overall a great B&W laser printer, perfect considering I am currently in college. Setup was a little obtuse due to requiring a USB connection, but this was for initial setup....after that the printer was able to be connected to all my computers via wifi. Also, it does support wifi printing from tablets and smartphones (I tested with only an Apple iPad, I'm assuming Android tablets work too), which was a nice bonus. Scanner does a decent job as well.
Summary: I'm very pleased with this printer. I should give it five stars! I have been on line for only two months this is all new to me. With the help of a good friend we had this Dell B1163w complete wire less printer up and running very quickly. I'm amazed how a wire less printer can print off of a wireless chrome book and do more then i expected. There are a lot of features i have not used yet. i'm very pleased!
Excerpt: It was quick to setup on my home network. It's accessible from all computers in network. But when it goes to sleep mode, it becomes difficult to print document. I work from a home a lot and can't use it when I am on VPN. Also, I had to re-install the drivers twice on one machine before I could start using it. The toner is very costly. Print quality is good. Printing is reasonably fast for a laser. It has a bright blue LED, which is kind of mildly annoying in night.
Excerpt: Needed a printer which didn't dry up (ink jets do that) when we don't print for weeks at a time. This is a nice small footprint laser. Driver setup was pretty easy and the wireless feature works great from everyone's laptop on the network. Even scans wirelessly with very little effort. Print speed and quality are good.
