Summary: I've had this printer for about two years now and love it. This was my first laser printer and replace an inkjet I had hooked to a network print server. Is the printer loud ... sure ... I guess, but it's fast and the noise doesn't bother me at all. Also, I don't think I've ever really had a paper jam. Plus I love that setup is quick in both windows and linux (gentoo). No complaints here.
Summary: I bought this Dell to replace my Epson C86, I was sick and tired of paying so much money for ink replacement cartridges, slow sleed from my inkjet and also there is the fact that I hardly ever print a photo or need color, the Dell is extremely fast (compared to my Epson C86) with excellent text output (again compared to my C86) and a very low $1.7 cents cost per page average which is a hell of a lot cheaper than my Epson inkjet.
Summary: This is a great printer. You can find many reviews about it all over the web. I just wanted to mention that the printer only comes with the standard 250 page tray and not with the optional 550 page tray. When I bought this I thought it came with the optional 550 page tray. You have been warned.
