Great print quality. Fast first-out prints. Quiet. Inexpensive.

Summary: Pros: Low hardware cost. Great print quality. Fast printing, even in color, including the first page from "sleep". Toner cost is high for "Dell" branded cartridges. Off-brand cartridges can be found, about 1/2 the price of Dell brand. I've purchased both, haven't tried any yet. Notes: Utilities downloaded from Dell are quirky and not documented. There are a number of obscure settings with no way of determining what they mean.
This printer can't be beat for picture quality or text !!!!

Summary: I've had this printer for about 3 monthes now and love it for the quality of the picture and text it puts out. Ive had no problems with paper jams like others have said, Ive printed out avery lables and 32# stock no problem. The only reason I gave it a 4 star and not a 5 is because, as others have stated, when I turn my PC off and restart it, I sometimes have to shut the printer off and restart it to make the connection. I did download the upgrades from dell.
Summary: I have several of these in our home. They are ideal for normal printing jobs and not heavy loads. Beware with paper jams, as printer is not well built and can get damaged internally. they do a terrific job otherwise.
Summary: Loved this printer when we first got it; print quality is very good, quiet, toner lasts a long time. You need to use Dell toner refills - aftermarket ones don't fit properly. However things have taken a turn for the worse recently. At some point the printer stopped waking up from standby. So now to print we have to unplug and replug the usb cable to wake the printer up. Very nasty, and Dell doesn't seem to be responsive to customer feedback on their forums.
Exceeded my expectations. Works fine with Macintosh (10.7.x)

Summary: First, there was a reviewer that was frustrated with Macintosh support for this printer. I do not doubt one bit the issues that they had. I have had similar issues in the past with dell printers. I think Dell has fixed their issues now. After receiving the printer, and yes no Mac drivers on the CD, I went to dell's website and downloaded their 10.7 mac driver. (Interesting to note, this was the only mac driver I saw..
Summary: I really liked using this printer, its quite cheep (aprox £100) and the toner seemed cheep as well, which is why I bought it. I only had it for a few months for work though. Would have loved to have one for myself. Lacking 5 starts because its old now and does not have WI-FI and for me this was a down side as it meant I could not print from my Android or Chrome OS devices. Print quality was okay, its was not capable of blowing me away but then can you get that for £100?
Summary: I bought it one year ago for a good price. I was looking for a laser printer because I do not print very often, and I did not want to have the problem of ink getting dry. As mentioend in other reviews, the speed is not so fast, but good enough for us. The quality is also good as far as we are concerned. Recently the black toner finished and we bought a non-original toner for a much better price than the original ones, and still looks good.
Summary: I've rated this printer as a general use printer. It is not a photo printer, if you try to print photos you will be disappointed. For printing documents that look crisp and professional this printer is great. For general day to day usage it's also great. It's not particularly fast, it takes a little while to 'spin up'. The noise is acceptable. The best thing about having a colour laser printer is that it doesn't dry out or need the printer heads cleaning.
