Excerpt: The MX895 is the latest in a long series of inkjet all-in-ones from Canon. Its features include USB Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity faxing a small (3in/7.6cm) yet clear and bright display and a set of buttons that are backlit to show only the controls relevant to the current mode. The first page of our test document printed in 22 seconds with page two emerging after another 10 seconds for a run-on speed of 6ppm compared with the nominal 9.3ppm.
Excerpt: It's tempting to look at a multifunction printer that offers fax and ethernet facilities and conclude that it's a business printer. The Canon Pixma MX895, though, more than almost any other MFP we've seen, caters for everyone. Everyone except the very small, that is, as this printer is something of a giant. Its chunky pyramid design does little to camouflage its bulk, although it does have a nice line in hiding many of its less-sightly features behind compartment doors.
Conclusion: With an impressive array of functions, the MX895 is a workhorse with plenty of features to appeal to small businesses. And it performs most of its tasks well, although it may not be the most economical to run in larger companies thanks to the high cost of ink.
