Summary: After about a week and a half of use (a few pages of text, a single photo and a couple of scans) the unit died. Wouldn't power on. Amazon let me return it for a replacement, which arrived the next day (five stars, Amazon). I'm giving the printer the benefit of the doubt that I just had a defective unit... The one photo I printed was spectacular. The scans were good.
Works fine with Mac OS-X Lion. BUT - download driver from this link

Summary: I love this printer. Print speed is great. The scanner works really well and the feeder does not jam like the Epson. The built-in wireless function works well with Mac OS. We love it so much we have several MX series printers. I just wanted to report here that the printer and scan functions work fine after upgrading to Mac OS-X Lion. HOWEVER, the drivers downloaded by Lion automatically do not work. When I started Solution Menu and click scan, I got an error window.
Summary: My wife and I bought this printer yesterday. It's setup was fairly straight forward until we tried loading the supplied driver/software disk on our two x64 Win 7 laptops. It kept hanging up while trying to load the disk. After a few attempts on both machines we went to Canon's official site and downloaded the specific drivers/software for x64 Win 7. They downloaded quickly and without fuss.
Summary: I just wanted to know a few things (all these specs listed on Amazon's page, but so little info there!!!) WTF?: 1) Aftermarket ink available yet? YES, and it's reasonably priced, just like my old MP530 I gave to my parents, worked great, never let me down and I learned before that, Canon printers are the best in the industry (at least compared to HP and Epson) with cheap ink available, prints great, why buy a printer that will give you headaches with costs, or clogged...
Summary: Using this device via WiFi with three Apple computers I have had no problems. Everything installed correctly on the first try on all three MACs. Ink usage seems reasonable so far. This device replaced a 7 year old Canon S900 photo ink jet which served me well. Print quality is good, driver gives lots of options. I am very pleased with this printer on my MACs. On my PC, as a printer, it works great. Scanning on the PC....does not exist.
Excerpt: Printing quality is very good, on both prints and copies, and can duplex. It scans well, from flat bed or from document feeder. It's not very fast for anyone used to the speed of devices intended for office use, and the paper cassette doesn't hold much. However, the manual paper feeder accommodates several different paper sizes and types. The documentation is sometimes a little hard to understand.
Summary: I already own a similar but lower-priced Canon all-in-one wireless printer with the same functions. The main difference is that my lower-priced printer uses only two ink cartridges, one for black and one for color. This one uses five different ink colors. The point of having more ink colors is to produce better looking photos and this definitely delivers. Photos printed on the high quality setting have more color and detail when used with Canon photo paper.
Summary: I love this printer..It prints out great pictures if you load the memory card into it..Didn't print well if I printed from my computer for pictures.. Printes 4x6 photos in about 15 seconds...Very fast..Crisp and clean pictures.. The scanner is amazing! Very good scanner so very good copier! Its easy to setup, love the wireless.. My only downfall is the fax.
