Summary: Perfect, its not the quietest but thats not a big deal for the speed of the print. The printer offers the ability to use 3rd party ink at a cheap rate, and this printer has a nice ADF but only works on thick paper. Recommended you don't use the ADF for important documents, but for easily reproduced copies.
Awesome Printer, great quality and value for the money.

Summary: Have had Canon printers for the last several years and this is just another example of a quality product with exceptional features and value for the money. I would recommend this product to anyone. Easy to install and use.
Summary: I will never use another brand of printer - I have a perfectly good Epson and each of the six cartridges is about $24 and they don't last long. While i still works, I just can't afford the expensive inks that only last a short time. I have a MP 620 and get excellent results, especially the economy of the ink replacements. Now I have the MX 882 and it does a great job as well. Would highly recommend this brand!
Summary: Not only does this printer use a lot of ink AND according to Consumer Reports has one of the highest ink replacement costs - BUT if you run out of ink, the unit will not even let you SCAN!!!! Canon has designed the unit so that the user is forced to keep buying ink, even if not using the printer. I do not plan on buying another Canon printer/scanner.
Summary: We've had a Canon MX860 for three years. It died and was too costly to fix. That multi-function printer served us very well for three years during which time we used it quite a lot due to home schooling, and running a ministry which required quite a bit of printing each week. We appreciated all the functions, especially the duplex printing which saved paper and made our handouts smaller and less bulky. We often used the feeder to make double sided copies.
Summary: This printer has 5 ink cartridges and if ANY of them run out of ink, the entire unit is useless until you replace the ink cartridge. Run out of blue ink, you can't print in black & white, can't fax, can't scan, can't read from a memory card. This is such a ridiculous design decision it makes me hate using the printer. Imagine if you ran out of eggs in your kitchen and thus couldn't make yourself a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
