Review: Canon PIXMA MX850 Office All-In-One Printer

JusTech'n
19 January 2009
  • Conclusion: If you have more than one computer and you are looking for a new All-In-One office printer, then I think this one would be great. Because this is not a photo printer I won’t complain that the photos were not very good, but I will say that I was disappointed in the speed of the document printing. As I mentioned above, the printer would stop printing about every 3 pages, my assumption is so that it could fill up its memory.

  • Conclusion: Equally capable at home and office tasks, the Canon Pixma MX850 is a good fit for the home or small office, or in the dual role of home and home-office all-in-one.
  • Pros: Fast performance. Automatic document feeder. Network connector. Standalone copier and fax.
  • Cons: Unusual approach to network setup. Full-page graphics tend to make plain paper curl.

Canon Pixma MX850 multifunction printer review

Techworld
30 April 2008
  • Summary: Canon touts the Canon Pixma MX850 as a multifunction powerhouse, and it's worthy of such a description. On top of being fast, easy to use, and excellent at outputting documents and photos, the MX850 includes features such as a duplexer and an automatic document feeder - making it an office-friendly printer. Despite its less-than-impressive scanner output, the Pixma MX850 is a stellar choice.

Review: Canon Pixma MX850

Macworld

  • Excerpt: (1 items) The Pixma MX850 is Canon’s all-in-one scanner, copier, fax machine, and ink-jet printer built for the small office or home office. The MX850 prints impressively crisp, legible text that’s comparable to laser quality. Add to that speedy performance, solid print results, and extra perks, and you have a superb multifunction printer. The MX850 is a bit bulky, at 31 pounds, but it sets up in a snap.
  • Pros: Includes duplexer and automatic document feeder, User-friendly, Speedy, Superior text quality comparable to lasers
  • Cons: Some colors look muted in scan output, Scan resolution is slightly fuzzy and jagged

  • Excerpt: The Canon MX850 inkjet multifunction printer is an all-in-one device, capable of copying, printing from memory card and PC, faxing and scanning. This hefty (at 30.7 lbs) device is aimed at the home office user who wants it all, but in one device. It does this along with working as a stand-alone device using the 2.5 inch TFT screen and control panel keys.

  • Summary: This is a multi function unit (as it has fax ) but for me anyway the major selling point is it’s ability to print A4 photo quality borderless images in 68seconds, yes I do mean one minute and eight seconds.
