Exceptional Printer/Scanner

Jack R., Newegg
7 July 2010
  • Summary: Newegg is one of the best, use them!
  • Pros: Read the instructions to set it up and it functions like a charm. Buy your ink fron CA. They have very good deals. All functions are perfect. Little slow on first page then it is fast. Got it 4/09 for very low price + free shipping. Best printer I ever had! Just had to replace tanks 05/10
  • Cons: Do NOT attempt to refill the tanks regardless of your experience you will make a mess! Buy tanks as a set!

Good and Bad

Snow, pcRUSH.com
9 March 2010
  • Summary: Comments about Canon PIXMA MX7600 Multifunction Photo Printer: I purchased this printer because my old HP never printed photos well. I now find that I rarely use that feature which the Pixma does particularly well. Functions that were so easy and intuitive with the HP are complicated on the Canon.
  • Pros: Compact Design, Great Print Quality
  • Cons: Complicated operation, Hard Setup

Avoid the MX7600

Anonymous, Newegg
14 February 2010
  • Summary: Shouldn't matter that an ink cartridge is empty, just to scan a document. And since I have yet to find this model of ink locally, I'll have to order online and wait for it to arrive before I can scan a document.
  • Pros: Decent quality photo prints. Fairly quick printouts--after it completes its long, drawn-out "pre-print" routine.
  • Cons: 1. Can't even scan a document if an ink cartridge is empty. Once it alarms for "ink out condition" it simply responds with a sequence of beeps for every button pushed including Stop/Reset, Menu, Settings, Scan. Can't do anything apparently until that ink cartridge is replaced. 2. Takes forever to...

Canon PIXMA MX7600 printer

myworkforcecdp, ReviewStream
17 May 2009
  • Excerpt: We bought the Canon PIXMA MX7600 because our old desktop printer won’t work anymore. The good thing about this printer is that the printing quality is much better now. It addresses the perennial issue of lack of clarity which inkjet printers have. With the said printer, it actually comes …

B300 error

Jonathan K., Newegg
29 April 2009
  • Summary: Canon was very helpful and gave me the option to send out another one or take it to a local repair facility. It's been in the shop about 4 days right now they had to order parts I'm hopefully/worriedly waiting to see how it works out.
  • Pros: Lost of features auto duplexing etc. Feels like its built solid its HEAVY!! Print quality is pretty good. Design looks good controls are easy to understand. While set up may take a little while its pretty simple.
  • Cons: I printed about 10 pages of photos and maybe 20 pages of text over 2 weeks and then my printer broke!!!!! It wont print black and white only pictures. It restarts itself repeatedly and gives me the b300 error. I should say that this is a rebuilt machine but that just makes me think that maybe thi...

User Review

Diane M., Newegg
1 February 2009
  • Pros: I am very happy with this product. It is far more than what I needed but it is great. I have printed photos and they turn out real nice. I hooked it up USB, it took me awhile to get everything checked out and up and Running. I did get the card slot to work as well. I like the idea of the separate...

Dead after less than a week!

Anonymous, Newegg
22 September 2008
  • Summary: On the phone, their customer service was pretty good, although they didn't know themselves what the "Error Code B300" means.
  • Pros: Auto-duplex printing, 4-in-1 capabilities, made in Japan.
  • Cons: DEAD after less than a week!!!! Error code B300, which is impossible to find in any manual/troubleshooter. All the menus are unaccessible. Hardly 20 pages printed (including 4 for calibration!) I wanted to pay some extra money, just to avoid the hassle of dealing with cheap manufacture; thought t...

Quality Multifunction Printer

Melvern M., Newegg
17 July 2008
  • Summary: I use an HP laser printer for the vast majority of my print jobs, which are usually black and white. I got the MX7600 because I need occasionally to print in color and I also need copying and scanning capability from time to time.
  • Pros: Reliable, high-quality printer with stable software. I'm using the unit with Windows XP. The quality of color photos on plain paper is what really sets this unit apart from the competition. I have it hooked up using the wired ethernet connection, and it works great. The documentation is well writ...
  • Cons: This is a pretty high priced unit especially at the time that I bought it in April 2008, which was just after it was released. The price has come down some since then so it's a better value now. It takes a bit of work to install this printer since it you have to do the initial install by having i...

Nice printer

Anonymous, Newegg
15 June 2008
  • Summary: The "value pack" of ink cartridges listed as a recommended accessory for this printer contains six ink cartridges you don't need for this printer and is missing two that you do need. Don't buy it (especially since you can't return it for a refund under NewEgg policy).
  • Pros: Nice print quality and color, especially on copies. Good speed once it gets warmed up. Makes sounds that confound cats.
  • Cons: Can make thin paper a bit soggy and wrinkly.
