Summary: I dislike giving anything a bad review but after several months of use, this thing just gets worse. I hate it beyond words. Here is a mere sampling of the problems: Even if I run it on "fast printing" instead of "fine printing" it eats ink, both black and color. We're three cartridges in with very little printing -- perhaps 50 pages a month -- and now it's out again. Stuff goes in the fax memory and never comes out.
Summary: It printed fine for four months and then stopped this morning. It goes through the motions, makes all the noise, but a blank piece of paper comes out. Nowhere can I find any support. This problem is not listed in the online manual. I replaced the ink cartridges today, after it started printing blank sheets of paper, yet it says the ink is running low. As a consumer,I had faith that the user manual would cover problems encountered by the printer.
Zero Stars-- Terrible Decline in Quality of Products

Summary: This is actually a review of a similar model, the Pixma MX 430; the only difference is, it's not wireless. I've been a loyal Canon buyer for years. The printers were formerly quiet, reasonably priced, efficient, and reliable. No more. This product jammed every time I tried to print at 'full photo' setting. It is ridiculously complicated to set up.
Summary: This product has great ratings on the internet. It is terrible if you own a Mac. I have a 2-year old MacBook Pro. It refuses to connect to it. Further, it is really complicated to use. If you put in a USB drive to scan an image, it is confused. If you connect it to your computer (PC or Mac), it may or may not work.
Summary: This printer is Super-Slow, makes A LOT of noises before/during/after print, Poor Colors Quality, the colors are almost dead. Stay far away, something to avoid. The only good thing i find in this printer, is the look. Thanks.
Summary: UPDATE I wasn't happy when I wrote my previous review. And I'm even unhappier now with this edited review. My prior beef was how light the scanned document turned out. I still don't have a resolution. Now, even the printed output is too light! What gives? I am about to throw this freaking model out. It has been a total disappointment. I am changing my rating to one star. If I could give it no star, I would!
The WORST printer I have ever purchased. A huge rip off.
27 April 2012
Summary: I am a grad student. Needless to say, I use my printer a ton - whether it's printing out research articles or my own work. To that end, I know exactly what features I want in a printer and only consider those models that have all of them. With all that said, I can unequivocally say that this is THE BIGGEST RIP OFF OF A PRINTER I HAVE EVER PURCHASED.
Summary: Granted when this PoS works, it works acceptably well. WHEN IT WORKS! I have owned it for a few months now, and it has never, not once, worked without fussing, powering down, rebooting my computer and whatever else I can think of to get the PoS to perform. Typically, it takes 10-20 minutes to get the printer or scanner to work. The issue is the computer simply does not see it. It's connected. It's on.
Summary: I have had the printer for 7 months and now it is completely broken. Both paper uptakes have failed. The lower paper feed failed within two months and the second failed last week. When I reported this problem to Cannon, they kept me on the help line for 40min and then told me that every once and a while they send out faulty units. If you need a printer to be dependable or are afraid of being lucky enough to receive a 'faulty unit' don't get a Cannon.
