Summary: This is the most unreliable printer I have ever had the displeasure of using. Printing a simple one page document is an epic undertaking of time and care. It's ridiculous. This printer has no positives. It is too large, too loud, consumes too much ink, and never prints when you need it to. Worst of all, help and troubleshooting options are severely limited and completely unacceptable.
Summary: I am an IT consultant and have used printers since the first needle technology. This one is for me the worst I have ever touched. The most user unfriendly interface. It gives beep response for no obvious reason and no indication in the display. For example, you want to copy, you put a page in the scanner, load a bunch of papers and push the copy button. What happens? A beep. Try to guess what you did wrong. You need to choose black or color.
Summary: eats up your ink like no other. it seems i'm changing out the cartridges every month. also because it uses lots of ink, incoming fax documents will not print out automatically; it goes automatically to reference memory and have to manually print out..very annoying.
Summary: This printer is NOT user friendly. Definitely not plug & play. The instruction book is hard to understand. And calling customer service is practically useless too. So, you waste a lot of time & effort just getting it up and running. The fax machine cuts on whenever it wants. My fax machine is on the same line as my house phone. Although there is a setting to take phone calls first, the fax machine cuts on automatically during regular phone calls.
Summary: PLS WAIT MOMENTARILY Get used to seeing this if you buy this slow noisy printer. Want to fax? PLS WAIT MOMENTARILY. Want to copy? PLS WAIT MOMENTARILY. Want to print? PLS WAIT MOMENTARILY. Apparently, "momentarily" means 60 seconds of the printer grinding and squeaking while you wait for it to respond. Then when it does finally working, you get a paper jam :) All-In-One-Piece-Of-Junk. Slow, slow, slow. If you value your time at your small office, do not get this.
Summary: First off, I love Canon digital cameras. It's sad to see that the quality in their cameras doesn't carry over to the printer designers. This printer, however, seems custom-designed to antagonize the user. -It's a complete ink hog, which wouldn't be so bad if the ink wasn't stuck with a price that leads me to believe the stuff is made from distilled unicorn tears.
Summary: Imagine how annoyed I was the last time I bought ink, when I payed $50 for ink and the printer decides to stop working. It acts like it's printing, but nothing on the page. Unfortunately, this isn't just a canon problem. It seems like every brand of printer I've tried gives out after a year or two. I've decided to stop buying ink.
Summary: Once the alarm light goes on it is all over. You can send or receive faxes if you are out of ink, or even if you have ink but the machine doesn't seem to think so. It burns through ink like CRAZY. I got the machine free with my MacPro and it was worth the 0 I paid for it. Much more trouble than it is worth.
Summary: This printer is a nightmare. It constantly says it is out of ink when it is not. It says "load paper" when the paper tray is full. It jams all the time. In short, it is a huge paper weight that always has a malfunction that prevents it from performing the very simple task of printing. It often takes 30 minutes to print a document that is 5 pages or so because of the constant jams, "please load paper"s and other various problems it has.
Summary: I must admit that I had real mixed feelings about this about writing this review, but since I just bought another printer, I feel that I owe it to my fellow consumers to put my opinion down on paper. First let me reveal that I have never been satisfied with any printer I have bought.
