The Canon PIXMA MX300 is an all-in-one inkjet printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine. It measures 17.3 x 6.9 x 18.4 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 15.5 pounds. The machine supports connectivity through Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and PictBridge.
The Canon PIXMA MX300 prints up to a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi (black) or 4800 x 1200 dpi (color). Printing speed is at 22 pages per minute (black) or 17 pages per minute (color). It makes use of 4 ink tanks consisting of 1 black and 3 colored inks (cyan, magenta, and yellow). The entire system uses 1,472 nozzles with 2 and 5-picoliter droplet sizes.
The MX300 features a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) that can scan documents up to 8.5 x 11.7 inches with 48-bit color depth at a maximum optical resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi which can be interpolated up to 19,200 x 19,200 dpi.
The Canon PIXMA MX300 copies up to 22 copies per minute (black) or up to 17 copies per minute (color). It can reduce copies up to 25% and enlarge up to 400%.
The MX300’s color fax machine has a modem speed of up to 33.6 Kbps that can transmit documents in black at 3 seconds per page and in color at 1 minute per page. It has a transmission reception memory and a memory capacity of up to 50 pages.
The PIXMA MX300 comes equipped with Canon’s Quick Start capability allowing it to be usable without the need for warm up. The multimedia printer is also equipped with Dual Color Gamut Processing Technology that automatically optimizes the quality of copies. It also has an integrated Auto-Image Fix which automatically optimizes photos.

The unit is large, but that was understood before I purchased it. Paper trays do not handle much. The unit does not weigh much at all. This is a decent printer in that it works, but it is by any other measure a terrible buy. Its unreliable, slow, HUGE, and it feels like a tin. I got it for free from Apple because I got a MacBook, and I think I might return it. I might actually rather my old, old HP. Terrible. Read more
