Summary: My goal was to get a printer that produced the best quality photographic prints with a reasonable budget (< $1000). As a bonus, it would be great if it was also wireless, so I could use any PC in the house and wouldn't be constrained as to where to put it. But the wireless part was secondary.
Summary: I haven't looked at a Inkjet Photo printer in about 5 years. When I looked back then, they were awful, expensive and a waste of money. My wife wanted to start printing some photos so we thought we would look around again. A friend suggested this printer and WOW, it's great.
Summary: After researching for a new All-In-One photo printer I decided on the MP980. However, before ordering, I was skeptical after reading some of the negetive reviews. After receiving the printer and putting it to the test, I am amazed at the quality of the device and blown away at the prints that come...
Summary: First of all, this thing came out of the box and just installed the way the instructions said - no issues. Wireless connectivity instantly (I run a LinkSys Wireless N-Router). Print quality is great with text and beyond stunning for photos - unparalled.
Summary: Some of the reviews here regarding setup made me hesitant to purchase this printer even though PC Magazine had given it an excellent review for printing results. For the last 3 years I have been using a Canon iP5000 photo printer with good results and in fact the only reason for me to switch was the...
Summary: Canon didn't let me down! My Canon i960 printed great pictures and so does the MP980. It's easy to use and was a snap to setup...even the wireless...contrary to some other reviews I had read. The only improvement I think that could be made is faxing capability.
Summary: I am a serious amateur photographer, an owner of a Canon dSLR, six Canon lenses, none of them cheap. I shoot RAW and post-process all my photos and view them on several calibrated monitors. I am very picky about photo quality. All I can say about this printer that it exceeded all my expectations.
Summary: When our second All-In-One HP printer went bonkers, I started shopping for a replacement. The Canon MP980 has very good reviews from places like CNET.COM and PCMAG.COM as well as on Amazon.Com. One drawback is that there is no fax.
Summary: I have had many printers including HP and Epson over the past 4 years. Never have I been so thrilled with a printer as the MP980. This printer responds quickly, does what it says it's going to do, and for once I have results that match my screen without tweaking any settings.
Summary: Great quality photos, good speed printing, but a little slow to start in the print mode. Much less noise than most printers I have owned. Scanner is fast and easy, and copier works great as well. The door opens by itself when start to print.
