Good performance; great quality; crappy software; very expensive to run

Summary: This printer does everything I wanted it to do, and does it well in excess of my expectations. Plain paper printing is excellent, and the photo prints are simply gorgeous. I cannot tell the difference between this printer's photo output and store-bought prints.
Summary: This particular printer was a little difficult to set up into my wireless system, but one phone call to Canon and the tech walked me through it. It prints slowly, even on the draft mode, but its pages are perfect.

Summary: The Canon PIXMA MP980 Wireless Photo All- In- One Printer is a very nice printer that eliminates cords and helps keep work spaces neater and cleaner. This printer utilizes wireless technology and this means you have greater flexibility as to the location of the printer in your home.
Summary: I just recently received this printer after a lot of research. I wanted a wireless printer that actually worked--my HP Photosmart 4580 that I got with my Apple iMac didn't work. It would fall asleep and not wake up. The documents would get stuck in the print queue.

Summary: PROS This printer does excellent printed photos close to quality photo lab prints and the scans are just awesome the software is easy to use and you can make calendars post cards ect quite easily and is very helpful.
Summary: Have had printer for about 3 weeks now - very happy so far. Prior printer was Canon 950i. It prints about as fast as my old printer (4.x6 in 20-30 seconds), but prints are even better (they were pretty good in the 950i) - they look like professional prints.
Great printer and scanner but terrible documentation

Summary: I wanted an all in one printer that worked wirelessly and this printer seemed like my best bet after reading all the reviews. I have used the printer for almost two weeks now on a Windows XP system and on a Vista system running 64 bits. Here is my evaluation so far.
Summary: I have to agree w/other posters the manual could be clearer in some sections. The installation process was actually the easiest part, putting it together took more time, primarily installing the print head.
Summary: I've had it for over a year and I like it. I primarily use this printer for printing out homework with colored graphics on the pages. I just realized that it's been years and I've never printed out a picture from my digital camera. Unfortunately I can't comment on the photo printing aspect.
Summary: I have now owned this printer for the past month. I needed a new all in one printer to replace my old one. This printer prints blazing fast black and white text and professional quality pictures. I enjoy the double sided printing as well, which makes it easy to print trifold brochures.
