Good performance; great quality; crappy software; very expensive to run

Rus Healy, Amazon
12 November 2009
  • Summary: This printer does everything I wanted it to do, and does it well in excess of my expectations. Plain paper printing is excellent, and the photo prints are simply gorgeous. I cannot tell the difference between this printer's photo output and store-bought prints.

  • Summary: The Canon PIXMA MP980 Wireless Photo All- In- One Printer is a very nice printer that eliminates cords and helps keep work spaces neater and cleaner. This printer utilizes wireless technology and this means you have greater flexibility as to the location of the printer in your home.

Love my new printer

Dorothy Caufield, Amazon
4 July 2009
  • Summary: I just recently received this printer after a lot of research. I wanted a wireless printer that actually worked--my HP Photosmart 4580 that I got with my Apple iMac didn't work. It would fall asleep and not wake up. The documents would get stuck in the print queue.

  • Summary: I did a lot of research on similar All-In One printers like the Canon PIXMA MP980. I was impressed with the good reviews and comments received from professionals and product users. I have not had mine very long, but I am impressed with the features and flexibility this printer offers.

NICE!

walnut the dog, Amazon
13 January 2009
  • Summary: Have had printer for about 3 weeks now - very happy so far. Prior printer was Canon 950i. It prints about as fast as my old printer (4.x6 in 20-30 seconds), but prints are even better (they were pretty good in the 950i) - they look like professional prints.

Great printer and scanner but terrible documentation

Amazon Customer, Amazon
12 January 2009
  • Summary: I wanted an all in one printer that worked wirelessly and this printer seemed like my best bet after reading all the reviews. I have used the printer for almost two weeks now on a Windows XP system and on a Vista system running 64 bits. Here is my evaluation so far.

Updated Review - Ink Consumption Ripoff

Michael, Amazon
12 December 2008
  • Summary: I've had it for over a year and I like it. I primarily use this printer for printing out homework with colored graphics on the pages. I just realized that it's been years and I've never printed out a picture from my digital camera. Unfortunately I can't comment on the photo printing aspect.

Great Product

Aaron C., Amazon
22 November 2008
  • Summary: I have now owned this printer for the past month. I needed a new all in one printer to replace my old one. This printer prints blazing fast black and white text and professional quality pictures. I enjoy the double sided printing as well, which makes it easy to print trifold brochures.

Pixma MP980

Christy Anthony "Groundhog gal", Amazon
3 November 2008
  • Summary: I ordered my printer from the Canon website as soon as it was out in October. The first one that I received did not work. Some kind of error kept coming up on the screen, almost 2 hours on the phone with a Canon rep and the bottom line is it was some error with the print head/ink station.

Outstanding printer, lousy instructions

MNS, Amazon
1 November 2008
  • Summary: This printer mostly lives up to its technical descriptions with many great features and is the best Canon printer I have had to date. I highly recommend its so far. Although I was very pleased with my Canon i980, this surpasses it providing even higher quality prints.
