Summary: After our scanner passed its useful life, I looked for an All-in-One printer with network capability for our two PC home office. I selected the Canon Pixma MP970. That was in October 2008. Here it is 2011 and I feel compelled to write a long-overdue review. The MP970 is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It has served my wife and me for three years flawlessly. It is easy to use.
Summary: Luckily for this dimwit "Easy Setup Instructions" are included with the printer. The first step is to unpack the machine. Installing the printhead and ink cartridges was easy as was printing the test patterns. Installing the software was also problem free and took about half the time ominously shown on the setup screen. Vista even automatically sought and downloaded the latest drivers and updates.
Summary: Thus far this printer is rock solid. I have owned for over a year and it works perfect. Great color on photos, and uses a separate black for greyscale copies and print jobs. The user interface via LCD is great. I also purchased the bluetooth adapter so that I could network with the rest of the house. It's range is great, works anywhere in the house (colonial). Print speed slows a bit via bluetooth but at least it is wireless.
Summary: We use this printer via wired network and it replaced my previous canon inkjet and a laser printer. The photo quality is excellent if you get the right photo-cards/paper and set the settings correctly. We've replaced the ink about 3 or 4 times since we bought it on Amazon, and have used it for photo christmas cards, all our normal printing jobs, scans of old photos, and copies for an array of paperwork we needed copies of.
Great little printer/scanner (Can use ink refill kits)

Summary: I've used Hewlett Packard, Apple and Brother brand color laser printers. This is my first color ink-jet printer and my first Canon printer and I'm very satisfied. It prints excellent quality photographs and seems to scan pictures better than my Brother MFC-9440CN color laser all-in-one that has twice the resolution of the Canon printer. Maintenance is very low.
Summary: Great, especially if you know ....... Date: May 6, 2009 Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, Easy Setup, Easy to use, Sharp Tones & Colors I used it a couple of times with excellent results and then after some time came back and tried to use it again. But the second time, I used it with some other picture application besides the Easy PhotoPrint EX. The picture quality was grainy and yuck.
Summary: I bought this printer to replace a recently deceased Epsom. Since it is the highest rated printer in Consumer Reports, I was pretty sure I would be pleased with it. The step-by-step setup instructions for set up were easy to follow. It makes beautiful pictures, and it's fast. I like it.
