Excerpt: What a great all-in-one product! I love the fact that this was wireless, and it was super easy to hook up and get on my network so all of my computers could print to it. This product is a great printer, and is super fast. It is incredibly noisy though - it's probably one of the noisiest printers that I've ever owned. The scanning function can't be done wirelessly, and you actually have to plug your computer into the scanner for the images to transfer.
Excerpt: I was looking for a quality photo printer in the $400 range. I found this photo printer and liked it when I first brought it home. It does require 7 ink tanks, which gets pretty expensive when you have to replace the ink. It seems like the color ink cartridges drain pretty quickly, so I bought another printer and just used this one for printing pictures.
Summary: This Canon Inkjet Printer is the perfect "all in one" to suit all of your needs! Easy to use and a very reliable Canon product. Seriously thinking about giving one to our grown children for Christmas. They will love the vivid colors and photo producing capabilities.
Summary: This is a great printer. My husband and I bought a Mac and our old printer was not fully compatible so we had to buy a new one. We wanted a photo printer, but one that could copy, print, and scan and that wasn't too expensive. Prints great photos. We even copied one of our wedding photos that was printed in a lab and it came out very close in quality. Would highly recommend and we haven't even used it to its full potential.
Summary: My only concern is that the Pictbridge connection doesn't work with my digital camera, and according to both manuals, it should. I don't know which machine is causing the problem. The front door seems to have become unmoored on one side. Nevertheless, I really am pleased with the the way it prints photos and copy, and that's the important thing.
Summary: The 970 does what it does just fine, but although it seems as if it can accomodate printing to varied paper sizes, getting it to print correctly to the custom size is spotty. I have wasted quite a bit of paper and ink when the preferences screen showed printing as wanted, but prints came out wrong.
I spoke to 2 tech reps and neither was familiar with Adobe Photoshop and one recommended I use the simplistic Canon software instead.
Summary: I've had the printer about 2 months now and so far I like it very much. I haven't figured out how to scan directly from the printer yet, I have to do it from my computer, but its just that I haven't had the time to spend experimenting. Pictures are great but you need to use good photo paper like Canon or Kodak. Printing is high quality also. My former printer was a Lexmark 5200, and I have to say it did great at printing scanning and photos.
