Summary: Ran 5 years until it developed a problem. That's not bad for a printer/all-in-one. I like it so well I'm watching eBay to buy the exact same model as a replacement. Canon will sell you a replacement at a "customer loyalty discount," but it would be a newer model.
Summary: I just bought of these today. Had been in original box for the past 6 years. I'm using Windows 2000 and can't upgrade due to special software requirements, so I could not find any Win2000 compatible printers in the stores any longer, except Lexmark, which really should not be still in business,...

Do your research & compare the pros & cons before buying. Better may exist.

Summary: Bought my first Canon MP830 when it was introduced a few years back. It has worked so perfectly since new and does everything so well (dbl. sided, scan, copy, fax) that any newer models don't appeal to me.
Summary: love lots of things exp makes good copies of photos and one can place small papers and print off of scrap papers and the printer is able to grip it and print it very carefully , but it fails within two to three years.
