Summary: I received the printer with a broken ink cartridge in the box, that should have been the first clue. Printer would not get past the set up returning an error about the "scan lock". Makes me wonder if they actually tested the printer before sending it back out again.
Summary: Seriously: watch out. This monster has proprietary cartridges that are verified via microchip. Fine. But the bigger problem is that the microchips tend to malfunction. When they do, and the printer can't recognize its cartridges, it shuts down completely--no printing, but also no scanning!!!
Summary: I just purchased this printer based on all the glowing reviews I have read and I have to say I don't know what everyone likes about this model. I was interested in this particular printer since it had the ability to scan slides and film so possibly I could eliminate my separate film/slide scanner.
Summary: Have had this printer for just under two years and it has enjoyed regular but light usage, therefore very disappointed that it's showing message U052 'change the print heads'. Having consulted with Canon and an authorized repairer, this will cost £45 to diagnose and there is only a 'good chance'...
