Summary: This was a great printer. Great print quality and a good copier/scanner too. Biggest Con was that it had no document feeder. I purchased it in 2007. Now 2012, I've had the printer 4 1/2 years, but alas, its power supply died. There are ALOT of comments and questions on FixYa.com etc., regarding this printer with the power supply dying, and/or the printer just stops working.
Summary: I bought this printer about 2 years ago. Up until tonight it has printed great. I would say that I didn't even come close to printing 500 pages with this printer in that time. Probably much less. I replaced the ink once, relatively recently. Tonight, I print one page. It turns off and that's all she wrote. Nothing. Won't turn on anymore. tried everything I know to get it back to life. 2 stars, sorry Canon you'll have to do better than 2 years. My old HP lasted 10.
Summary: The Canon PIXMA MP810 is everything it says it is. Printing is sharp. Photos, when printed on Canon Glossy Photo Paper, are better than what I get from a photo store (like Wal Mart). It will also print from slides with the included slide holder, and these prints are sharp and clear as well. Scanner works extremely well. I am 100% satisfied.
Summary: We have owned this printer for over a year. We print photo's from both the Canon camera's memory card and from the software that came with the printer. The printer photo prints from the memory card are far better quality than from the Canon software program. This printer goes through ink cartridge's very rapidly. I can't give you a page total for printing color photo prints or black on white text print.
Summary: My old HP 930 finally croaked after many years of dependable use. I had no idea what I was missing in the new all-in-ones, and no idea that low cost home printing/copying now rivaled photo finishers. I came across the reconditioned Canon MP810 for under $70(!!) from an online source, and figured I could take a risk. No risk here..
Summary: I have been using this all-in-one since May 2007. It is the best printer/scanner I have ever used. No problems, excellent results scanning prints & negatives, and printing stuff like web pages, emails etc. - I don't use the Canon to print large photographs - and I have a seperate 4x6 photo printer. I guess I am a light user of the printer, since I have only gone thru 2 or 3 sets of ink packs in ~18months.
Summary: We bought this printer based on extensive research and on the recommendations of a leading consumer magazine. We had trouble on two separate occasions with the ink cartridges "losing their minds" and deciding that they were empty when they were not. This problem "spread" from one cartridge to another, an issue verified by Canon.
Summary: I received the printer with a broken ink cartridge in the box, that should have been the first clue. Printer would not get past the set up returning an error about the "scan lock". Makes me wonder if they actually tested the printer before sending it back out again. If it hadn't been for the easy return policy I would have been very upset. Ended up buying a brand new Canon MP610 and had it up and running in a few minutes, very happy with it.
Summary: I have had this printer for just over a year. Conveniently just after the 1 yr warranty ran out last week, my printer no longer powers up. I tried different outlets and nothing so basically I spent $260 for the use of a printer for a year. Another thing I didn't like about it, is that it is very heavy. Just to move it from one spot to another was annoying (not that i moved it often). I guess when it was working, it worked fine.
