Summary: This printer is nothing but trouble . . . as each 'new, improved' Canon printer continues to be . . . and I've foolishly owned at least eight of them. Why? Because they only last til the warranty is up and each model is cheaper constructed, doesn't ...
The Canon MP640 is an essential part of a families technology set up.

Excerpt: CONNECTIVITY The connectivity options of the MP640 make it ideal for a household with a large number of computers. For example in our home we have 3 laptops and a desktop PC, all of which are connected wirelessly to the printer.
Excerpt: After having a bad experience with a Kodak printer, I purchased this Canon printer. I think at the time it was on offer in PC world, so the cheap price was the thing that swayed me over anything.
Summary: Bought this to replace an old Lexmark which never really worked well with Windows 7. This one does the job perfectly. Good points: Paper tray under the printer, so no need to leave space at the back for sheet feeding. Individual ink cartridges, less waste.
An excellent multi-function home office space saver.

Excerpt: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ALL FOR ONE & ONE FOR ALL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Although we already have a fully functioning and well appointed HP printer (which we use still use for our photo printing) my wife's role as head of our church Sunday School, and an increase in the number of days I work from home,...
Excerpt: Had the MP640 for a few months now - a very belated accompaniment to my EOS 450D Digital SLR camera. First impressions are that it's very good. I wanted something that printed high-quality images, and it doesn't disappoint.
Summary: I think this printer is excellent and would recommend it - as I love the wi-fi fact and I can be anywhere in the house to print out. It is good quality. The only down side I would say is that it uses a lot of ink, but I think this is common with most printers nowadays.
Summary: Firstly the printer performance is fine, great even. Speed of fine, quality is very good and it is all good while things are working. However the overriding fact is that I have had 3 delivered and 3 have malfunctioned in some way or other in the space of 6 months.
Summary: For the first year of ownership, I would give this printer/scanner a 5 star rating. Though ink usage was heavy, anecdotally compared with our previously owned HP880C, which appeared to do more per cartridge. Looking back through company receipts we spent 40% more per year.
Great quality printer, but has some connection issues

Summary: Bought this to replace an Epson printer. Compared quite a few models from various different manufacturers and ended up going for Canon on reputation. Decided to spend a bit more than a bargain basement price to get something decent. Generally, we are really happy.
