Best bang for buck Inkjet

William K., Newegg
31 March 2009
  • Summary: Do a google and find the 'F' tray for this printer. You'll make professional color CD/DVD labels by printing directly in the CD/DVD's!
  • Pros: Makes GREAT color CD's/DVD's with adapter. Very well designed!
  • Cons: We paid around 50.00 for ours at Newegg so I can't say there are any cons.

  • Summary: 4 eggs is high for a basiclly DOA product....but it is a refurbished and the replacement is working flawless with the better then expected CS I gave Canon a 4 egg
  • Pros: Cheap price, good print quality, AWESOME customer service.........the 1st one delivered stopped printing black after about a week of use,,,,,But here is why they get 4 eggs,,,,,,,Contacting Canon directly was painless....1st they sent me a new printhead and black cartridge to see if that was the ...

6 March 2009
  • Pros: Prints quickly with very nice quality. Handles cameras and sd cards very well. Easy to operate, no complicated instructions. Scans quickly with great quality. Has 2 paper trays so you can put your photo paper in one and regular paper in the other and never have to worry about finding when you wan...

Does not print colors!

Darya A., Newegg
20 February 2009
  • Summary: Never bought refurbished devices before, and not going to do it in future.
  • Pros: low price for such a device. It's not too big, and many functions work fine.
  • Cons: It absolutely ignores color printing! It has all the ink it needs but does not use any of it for printing! Customer service promised to send print head substitution, but it will take another week to arrive. and I have no idea if it will work or not. Since this product is recertified, there is no ...

Not Bewildered

Richard B., Newegg
19 February 2009
  • Summary: The unit I purchased had a power cord, just not a USB cord from the rear of the printer to the PC. Most every ACE hardware or Radio Shack store carries a multi-purpose ( printer, power supply,) power cord in case Canon didn't include one in the re-cert process.
  • Pros: Best MFC for the price....
  • Cons: Reviewers who are "bewildered"

Wow...Where's the beef?

Richard B., Newegg
19 February 2009
  • Summary: I bought this model because it is one of several that I found a CISS (constant ink supply system) for at SSE ( suepr smawrt eelctroniks). Ink cost is considerably less using a ciss; a close friend has been using his quite happily for some time now.
  • Pros: 1st off, this is a replacement for an antique HP 722C printer. Finding replacement ink for it cost more than this printer! EZ out-of-the-box set-up, drivers and software loaded smooth, no hitches whatsoever. Print quality is on par with what I get at 1-hour photo lab (using good quality photo pap...
  • Cons: Uhmm...wait...give me a moment.....a senior moment............Nah, couldn't get a bad thought going....tried..but, just can't think of one.

NewEgg Dropped The Ball

John H., Newegg
16 February 2009
  • Summary: When I told the rep that the description says it includes a power cable, I was told that the included items in NewEgg's Product Descriptions do not actually mean that they are included. I swear to G*d, that's what she said.
  • Pros: The printer is great, very fast, and high quality prints. The scanner is quick and captures great images. Canon customer service is located in the USA with real English speaking reps that are eager to help, without any bull**** about your problem not being their responsibility.
  • Cons: NewEgg dropped the ball on this one. Canon forgot to include a power cable and the NewEgg rep claims it is an accessory. I contacted Canon and they said it is supposed to include a power cable, they admitted that they messed up and they are sending a new cable, free of charge. This makes me very ...

Great AIO

Jason B., Newegg
13 February 2009
  • Pros: Fast, Fast, Fast! Laser quality print and the photos rival that of your local drug store. Perhaps not professional lab quality photo prints, but VERY close. Close enough for the bucks for most. Excellent buy for the money. My recertified unit looks and performs as new at half the cost.
  • Cons: Normal wacky Canon install procedure. As others have said, it has a large footprint. Make sure you have enough real estate on your desk to accomadate it.

  • Pros: Works perfectly, setup was very simple
  • Cons: Somehow i didnt get a USB cable to connect the thing to my PC so i had to go out and buy one. I dont know if Cannon would send me one free of charge but i didnt feel like waiting a week to get it if they did. So minus 1 egg for that

wish it was new now

David F., Newegg
7 February 2009
  • Summary: hopefully canon has good customer service and will send me a new head instead of paying to ship the whole unit back.
  • Pros: it turns on, lots of great features, quiet, scanner works
  • Cons: doa...goes through printing process, spits out blank paper with no errors. Tried cleaining head/nossils and alignment multiple times, still no ink coming out. printer shows that ink is full and they all light up. Im guessing this one sat on the shelf too long and the head is plugged.
