Summary: This printer was no better than all the others made recently. It did not last long and had to get a new (refurbished) one from Canon under warranty. The print quality was ok, nothing to brag about. The worst thing was the cost of ink, two refills was equal to the price of the printer.
Summary: Printed okay. LCD screen never really handy, small and not good to view. Printer lasted about a year (screen went black, a pain), not long compared to any other printer I've ever had. Use Canon cameras that I like, will never buy their printer again. No reason to, lots of choices.
Summary: We got this printer free with a purchase of an iMac back in 2010. Within a year, the flip-up control panel stopped working properly. The LCD screen no longer came on, but the printer still worked.
Summary: This printer works well until...the ink cartridges need to be replaced--even if they still contain ink! I never, ever print with color. However, I just tried to print something and the printer won't function--even in b/w--until I purchase another magenta ink cartridge.
Summary: My printer died and I looked on Amazon and found the same one for a great price. Even though it was described as slightly used, I took a chance and lucked out, It was brand new. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Summary: I've had this printer for 2 1/2 years the first year the screen went out, I had it replaced and then a few months later the scanner went out and, now the second screen went out! Going to look at Consumer Report to pick a different brand.
Summary: Excellent printer- hard to find- being replaced by newer models- clear photos & text- easy to use- easy to install ink & maintain- highly recommend for small home/ small business printing/ copying needs- great scanner & copier- colors clear & crisp...
Good printer, but failed early! Screen failures common
K. Coates, Amazon
2 September 2011
Summary: I liked this printer, but early on my screen went white. Searching the web I find that this is common. it's hard to use after that. About a year after that it completely died (no power at all). I expected more from Canon.
Summary: I've had the MP520 for more than 2 years, and finally I've had enough. At first it worked ok. Printing text was OK, but printing with photo paper was always a little clumsy. Then the papers started coming out crumpled up, more and more. Finally the printer became totally useless.
