I love my new/old printer. Thanks for making it available.

Evelyn James, Amazon
12 December 2014
  • Summary: I am very, very pleased with the overall product. It was missing the front paper support tray and the door over the smart card slots, but I had them from my old one. It didn't come with a manual or CD but I sort of knew that when I ordered it. Again, I had them from my old one.

Excellent service, but buyers of used printers need to be forewarned..

Margaret Vanderlippe, Amazon

  • Summary: that a printer which has not been used for some time will need not only new ink, but the printer heads will need to be cleaned as per directions in the manual. Therefore, having a manual included is a necessity.

  • Summary: I cannot believe the prices on these now, it;s a really old model. it does work really well and the inks in different cartridges so you can replace them as they go out instead of all at once. the other thing is if you happen to get a red setter, you can reset the chips.

decent printer ... until it died!

Chuang Tzu "software consultant", Amazon
20 September 2010
  • Summary: I have had very decent functionality from this printer which I got with an iMac about 2 yrs ago. I don't write reviews too often, but felt it was time to give back! My MP510 just went into an error 5100 crash with the print head mechanism slamming against the left inner wall.

  • Summary: I mainly use this product as a scanner, occasionally using the print/copy functions, but overall I think I've only used enough ink in the last few years to have to replace the cartridges two or three times. (for INK USAGE....

Dead before age 3; Mediocre Prints

Joel Cranford, Amazon
26 June 2010
  • Summary: I purchased the Canon MP510 in August 2007, my first Canon and first multi-function printer. It died this week for no apparent reason, having sat in the same place for about a year (34 mos since it was purchased). During its lifespan it 'did the job' of printing satisfactorily.

Does not hold up

Patricia Brown ""Great" Aunt", Amazon
12 January 2010
  • Summary: I bought this printer for my daughter attending and college and liked it so much I bought one for myself. Neither of us used it on a regular basis and they both quit feeding paper at the same time - about 1-1/2 years later. Very frustrating since we both had just bought new ink.

And then it died.

Rachel Fleishman "Seattlite", Amazon
27 March 2009
  • Summary: I am a Mac user and every time I switch functions on this printer (i.e. to scan/copy), it needs to be reinstalled on the computer or it won't print again. After 2 years of ink-guzzling use, it has developed an error message implying it has a paper jam. It does not.

A hardy printer

Anibeth, Amazon
19 November 2008
  • Summary: I purchased my first Canon printer and decided on a MP 510 since the others had a fax built in, but are rather expensive and thought the MP 510 would be a simple, but wise purchase. The printer works well, doesn't smear the ink and the feed was consistent.
