Summary: I believe amazon was selling this model for little over $60 at the time. I ended up purchasing one for about $40 after redeeming points. I was MORE than pleased with CANON PIXMA MP499 because it setup easily and performs all its functions very well. I set it up as network printer without even being the administrator of home network. All I needed was network name and wifi password. Then I added some other people's computers.
Summary: I had to buy a new machine to replace an ancient All-In-One Canon Pixma MP130 that was still going strong but I couldn't use anymore because the printer stopped working. I chose the MP499 based on the fact that it had wifi, as I was sick and tired of having to transfer work from one computer to the main one. I've only had the MP499 for a few weeks and I have to say that I'm pleased in the "It's good for what it is" vein.
Summary: I bought this printer because my other one bit the dust. It was also a Canon and I had good luck with it, so I opted for another of the same brand. SUPER affordable for how good it is... I print pictures and regular stuff. It's fast, quiet and wireless. I also love that there's a Canon app for my Android phone that I can send print jobs through with literally 2 clicks. SO COOL!
Summary: What a great printer! Setup was simple, it basically did everything itself. I set it up in my bedroom upstairs, but I can print from just about anywhere in my house. I forgot to open the door where the paper comes out, and it was kind enough to do it for me. Scanning and copying are simple to use. Great product!
Summary: I needed a printer for less-than-daily printing. I thought I would have to spend much more than I did for this one to get a printer/scanner/copier. Set-up was very straightforward. I am not a tech person by any means. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Making the wireless connection was far easier than I had imagined. Best of all, when everything was set up, the test print which was color was excellent.
