The Canon PIXMA MP470 uses a multitude of ink nozzles to produce a resolution of 2400 by 4800 dpi at most in color. For black text, its maximum resolution is at 4800 by 1200 dpi. It can print a postcard sized photograph in just 46 seconds. Documents with only black text are copied at a speed of 22 pages per minute while for colored documents, at 17 copies per minute. Print speed is also with the same number of outputs. Its dimensions are seen to be at 13.9 inches for its width, 6.7 inches for its height, and 17.7 inches for its depth. Its weight is at 12.8 pounds. It can reduce or enlarge documents at a ratio of 25% to 400% its original size. It uses a Contact Image Sensor for its scanner type. Photographs can be printed straight from a PictBridge enabled camera, or using a high speed USB or Bluetooth connectivity on a computer.

After 10 months of gentle use, doing everything the manual stipulated, the paper will not feed correctly through the roller, skewing constantly to the right. This renders the machine useless. I had no problems with the machine before, and have not used any medium beside 24lb. inkjet paper. I am fairly new to printers and wanted my first experience to be a good one. I did a lot of research and I beleive I made a good choice. Canon tech support is also helpful although,l I don't like the fact that they charge a fee to help with issues if your item is older then a year since the purchase date. I would still say to buy one though cause with the simplicity of the unit, after a few calls you should'nt really need them. Especially if you are not new to printer... Read more
I have had this printer for more than 6 months, and I cannot complain. It has been wonderful, it prints superb pictures. It just takes a couple of minutes to 'warm up' after you power it on, but when it is ready, it does the job! The 'cost-benefit' didnot get 4 or 5 stars because of the cost of the replacement cartridges, as they are a bit pricey, and it is still cheaper to get your prints done at a photolab, but it is so much more fun to print them yourself! Anyway I must tell you that the security in my case is just one year and now that he has met recently I crashed and I can not use the warranty. Heder also tell you that I have done a very intense use. Sale more consideration to buying a new multifunction as the Canon Pixma MP210 is at around the 75 euros and has many features.
