Canon MP460 is a decent All in One

  • Excerpt: In the past decade or so, the all in one printer category has exploded. So much so that there aren't many printers that just print now a days. The MP460 is a mid range all in one that does a decent job all around. Scan quality is very good, as is print quality for regular black and white and color documents. Photos look a little washed out, even when they look just fine on your monitor. Also, the printer takes a while to get ready for a print after being off.

Happy and going on almost three years of printing with the MP460

  • Excerpt: The Canon MP460 came almost free when I bought my iMac about 2 years ago—Apple was offering an $100 printer rebate and this model cost $110. Since then, I've printed almost continually on it and it's been a reliable machine. Recently I've been experiencing some software issues with it and have had to reinstall the drivers, but I think that's not a printer problem---more like a computer problem.

  • Excerpt: I bought the Canon MP460 printer perhaps 3-5 years ago and I'm GLAD i did!! I can scan things i draw and put it on the computer, I can copy stuff. Theres a virtual menu so i dont need to randomly click buttons and guess what I am doing. There are no limits to what you can do with this. The color is great even though the ink is pretty expensive it's well worth it.

Canon PIXMA MP460SE Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer

  • Summary: Needed low budget but capable unit for daughter, this one fit the bill perfectly. Easy set up and all the features she needed. Have been using Canon and Lexmarks for several years now after abandoning the HP product line as their quality sank and the software became bloated enough to bring older machines to a crawl.

  • Summary: I was given this printer for my birthday a few years ago and never actually started using it properly until about 6 months afterwards when college work was becoming more demanding. I had difficulty setting it up but once you got it done it turns out it's absolutely simple! The Canon Pixma MP460 is an all in one printer which contains scanner and photocopying facilities as well as the standard printer. It has various ports for different cables e.g.
  • Pros: decent price for its functions

Canon Pixma MP460: Do whatever you want, whenver you want it

Geisskane, Dooyoo
31 December 2009
  • Summary: Some people love all-in-one printers, others loathe them. Common negative points are that because they do more than one thing then the quality of each of those actions is reduced. Thankfully I have not experienced this with the Canon Pixma MP460. The Pixma MP460 is a 2006 release from Canon and so is now a bit old, but this doesn't mean that quality suffers. What it DOES mean is that for less than £100 you can have yourself a high quality multi purpose device.
  • Pros: Fast, High-Quality, Looks professional, cheap
  • Cons: Software installation problems

Canon Pixma MP460: Very good All-in-One

Spiderbiskit, Dooyoo
24 January 2009
  • Summary: This printer wasn't bought new but second hand so it had been in use for a while when I got it. I had to get new ink cartridges and if you need some then buy the Canon higher capacity ones. I know there may be some companies who can refurbish or refill to the manufacturers standards but in my experience they are few and far between. The printer itself is quite bulky but with all the features it's got (scanner, copier, digital display, etc.
  • Pros: It's an all-in-one so saves a lot of space
  • Cons: Doesn't print brilliant photos - though in fairness it doesn't claim to be a photo printer!

J Bull, CNET

  • Summary: Dear Sir I am having a problem with my Pixma MP 460 printer. This is the first time I have changed both the ink cartridges and although the printer is working fine a low ink warning still appears every time I print. Can you advise me how to reset this so as the printer knows that these cartridges have been changed and give me the correct levels.
  • Pros: No other problems
  • Cons: Ink level display
