Summary: Needed low budget but capable unit for daughter, this one fit the bill perfectly. Easy set up and all the features she needed. Have been using Canon and Lexmarks for several years now after abandoning the HP product line as their quality sank and the software became bloated enough to bring older machines to a crawl.
Excerpt: I was given this printer for my birthday a few years ago and never actually started using it properly until about 6 months afterwards when college work was becoming more demanding. I had difficulty setting it up but once you got it done it turns out it's absolutely simple! The Canon Pixma MP460 is an all in one printer which contains scanner and photocopying facilities as well as the standard printer. It has various ports for different cables e.g.
This is a fantastic all-in-one printer for the price and is highly recommended.

Excerpt: Some people love all-in-one printers, others loathe them. Common negative points are that because they do more than one thing then the quality of each of those actions is reduced. Thankfully I have not experienced this with the Canon Pixma MP460. The Pixma MP460 is a 2006 release from Canon and so is now a bit old, but this doesn't mean that quality suffers. What it DOES mean is that for less than £100 you can have yourself a high quality multi purpose device.
Excerpt: I bought this printer because my son thought that he could use my IP4300 printer better than me. So after looking around I saw this printer in a discount shop. After reading the box, it was the one I wanted. So home we got. Taking it out of the box I was pleased with the packing. Well supported. It never felt very heavy but that is because it is almost all plastic. This was the first thing that made me feel I had not bought a good printer.
Excerpt: This printer wasn't bought new but second hand so it had been in use for a while when I got it. I had to get new ink cartridges and if you need some then buy the Canon higher capacity ones. I know there may be some companies who can refurbish or refill to the manufacturers standards but in my experience they are few and far between. The printer itself is quite bulky but with all the features it's got (scanner, copier, digital display, etc.
Excerpt: Had this all in one for over a year now.Bought reduced at Argos! Its a bit bulky and the back bit where the paper sits is sticking out at the back of the unit though it does save space having an all in one!It is easy to set up and use, works fine with our vista computer. The ink cartridges are quite cheap, though i buy the higher capacity ones to save money and changing cartridges. The printer isnt too noisy and works well, good colours .Havent printed many photos out as too...
Excerpt: . Just think for a second and ask yourself a question. How would it be to have a scanner, printer and photocopy machine in one device? I had like this about year ago and it is not comfortable. You occupy only USB ports, have more cables behind and less room for anything on a desk. Cannon came across with Pixma mp460. This quite medium sizes device is brilliant and quality breath taking.
Excerpt: I have recently purchased a Cannon Pixma MP460 and found it to be very easy to install, set up and use. This is a three in one machine with printer, photo copier and scanner It is ideal for everyone's needs. Really is excellent value for money The little digital display on the front is easy to read, clearly marked as well as very practical At the moment I am using the three in one with windows vista and found absolutely no problems what so ever with compatibility.
Pros: Simple to use easy to install and set up
Cons: With Ubuntu Linux it is complecated to install and set up
Excerpt: This printer has been a wonderful buy! It can do everything you would want in a home ( I believe that it was even recommended in the independant newspaper recently ) plus replacement ink is reasonably priced depending on where you buy it (personally I buy either from ebay shops or Tesco-where the prices range from about £2 a cartridge) The results are by far the best quality I have had from an all-in-one printer and the problems that generally come with home office...
Pros: All in one printer easy to use
Cons: price of original buy but outways on reliability
