Summary: I got this printer for a great price on sale - but not worth it. If you just want standard printouts then you are fine, if you need any type of quality - forget it! It prints worse than my old dot matrix printer 20 years ago :-( I would not recommend this product.
Summary: I purchased the Canon Pixma 450 two years ago in conjunction with a new computer. It has been used in primarily in light duty volume applications with a few longer runs. To say I'm disappointed with it is being polite. This machine is S L O W and noisy. When copying from an original it grunts, groans, wheezes, whines, and then finally gets around to printing. Printing from the computer is a bit faster, but it still goes through the same gyrations.
Summary: Bought this about 1 1/2 years ago and wish I didn't. Almost immediately I had problems with the print quality, then it suddenly stopped working altogether. The closest repair facility is over an hour away in another state so I called tech support. The guy was friendly and we tried a bunch of things that didn't work. He sent me a "new" printer for free and I sent mine back in the box the new one came in.
Summary: I was excited to get a good deal on this printer through Amazon with my rebate. As a photo printer, I noticed that the colors were yellowish. I used it for scanning photos (which worked very well) and printing documents. It was fast with documents for a while, but right after I put in the second set of cartridges - and we all know how expensive those are - the take up reel quit. And that was it. So now I'm stuck with a huge, broken printer and a full set of cartridges.
Summary: I was extremely disappointed in this purchase. It turned out to be a refurbished model that did not work! [There was no indication beforehand that it was not a brand new item.] I had to pay UPS to send it back. THEN, I only received a partial refund for the returned item. It cost me a bundle to learn not to buy anything from Amazon again!
Summary: Try doing something other than copying or scanning (both work quite well actually) and you are in for a terrible time. The settings are simplistic "High print quality vs. Standard" (Oooo decisions, decisions) Don't try to print anything with vivid colors! You will get terrible results. Couple that with the in package software's inability to create 8X11 photos that are centered, and you have one poor printer. I don't know why they stopped making the IP 90.
Summary: I ordered this printer over a month ago. The first one that arrived would not recognize the print cartridges that came with it. After calling canon tech support a few times they finally decided to send me new cartridges. After a wait of almost a week the cartridges showed up. I put the new cartridges in and they were still not recognized. After more calls to canon tech support they agreed to send me a new printer. After another week the new printer arrives.
