Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! It will drive you insane!! It shuts off at random when you are printing or scanning multiple documents. The only way to get started again is to remove power cord and plug back in. I plan on throwing it off of my 2nd floor balcony and then going downstairs and destroying it with a sledgehammer.
Summary: This printer will not print or scan if one of the ink cartridges is low. I have a new black ink cartridge installed but the color cartridge is low on ink, the printer will not scan or even print black and white documents. This printer was designed to not function at all if one of the cartridges is low on ink. This is a really silly design from Canon, I will never buy a product from them anymore.
frustrated by canon pixma mp240 all in one printer
9 September 2012
Excerpt: My canon pixma mp240 all in one printer worked great for couple months. Now paper jams and printer goes to Error. No help from any online sites unless they want more money. Canon not helpful, will try store I bought it from but not hopeful.
Summary: I got this printer as part of a package with my Gateway computer. My trusty HP printer had been working perfectly for over 7 years when I gave it away to make room for this one. Needless to say, I was disappointed when this printer broke after only 2 years. It started flashing an E3 error message, which indicates a paper jam. However, there was no paper jam.
Summary: This machine lasted a couple of weeks and then broke down. I bought two and they both experienced similar problems. One got off carriage and pulled the paper in wrong and the other just stopped working. Don't bother.
Summary: I bought this printer in October 2008 after reading several positive reviews. I would like to offer a strongly dissenting opinion! The printer barely lasted a year before the paper feed broke. Mind you, I used this strictly for the occasional home print job. No photos, just text. I doubt I printed more than 100 pages in the year I had it. Yet it still broke. When I contacted tech support, they told me it would cost more than the printer was worth to fix it.
Summary: I am a light user. I'd printed maybe 200 pages over the 6 months I've owned it. Documents only. When it worked, it worked well enough -- no complaints about the print quality; mainly text. BUT -- two weeks ago I printed a few pages with no problems, turned it off, turned it on a few hours later, and was greeted by the main green display blinking an alternating "3" and an "E". It could not be reset and it would not accept any print jobs.
Summary: Printer worked sporadically from the get-go. Contacted Canon support and they sent a replacement (rebuilt) printer. It, too, worked erratically. Couldn't print at all from some programs (like Outlook 2007) or only text or graphics (but not both) from others. After wasting far too much of my time, I bought a comparable HP printer. After fifteen minute set-up it has worked flawlessly right out of the box.
Cons: cartucce costosissime e inizialmente quasi scariche
