Canon Pixma MP220: Not bad, but a few cartridge problems
21 December 2009
Summary: I bought this printer from Argos about a year ago. It came with two ink cartridges, one black and one colour. It worked fine with these, but when they ran out I started to have problems. It always tells me the ink is low, even when i've just put a new cartridge in. Firstly I bought some re-filled cartridges (Tesco own brand) and it refused to print with these, saying the ink had ran out.
Summary: I bought this printer over a year ago - exactly a month after I bought it, it broke. Luckily I managed to exchange it for another of the same model but two months later it broke again - this time I exchanged it for another model instead as I couldn't deal with the reliability issues any longer.
Pros: borderless printing, also functions as a scanner and copier
Excerpt: I''ve regretted buying this printer simply because it is so poor and inflexible when it comes to ink usage. I used to get an adequate usage of ink with my old epson printer, and whatever cartridges I use with this, I barely print a long essay before it''s refusing to print anymore. Very disappointing and hugely expensive, and it''s still in excellent hardly used condition. I''d give it away to save money.
Cons: Ink usage, cartridge friendliness, ink cost is huge
