Summary: This does everything I expected, software worked fine, and scan quality is good and adjustable, with also ocr text option. It takes somewhat longer to print than I would like. Also the feature for alerting to being out of paper forces you to push the ok button on the printer rather than just acknowledge it on screen. [...
Summary: Dependable piece of equipment (replacement lost in Hurricane Katrina). I haven't been able to sit and use it as frequently as I'd like yet, but so far, so good. Have to remember to press the function keys on the front panel when switching from print to scan, etc. Scans and copies are clear, clean and crisp. Worth the buy.
Summary: I bought this machine for 2 weeks and I like it. I should spend another $20 to get the higher model (MP450?) which has a LCD panel, a lid to cover the memory card slots, and an option to go wireless using bluebooth. However, bluetooth could be slow. The MP170 used better plastic for the cover. Pro: 1. Solid built. 2. Quick. 3. Good quality on scanned images and printouts. 4. Use "normal size" ink, not like those HP using 5ml ink. 5.
Summary: I bought this in December. I haven't used it too much but I printed 15-20 B&W sheets and the quality was very good. I printed a 4*6 photo (connected the Canon SD550 directly to the printer) and it was excellent. I also printed a colored ticket receipt on plain paper and the quality was very good with the subtle tones getting captured in the printout. Overall, I am satisfied with the printer. If only printer manufacturers could include the USB cables that are required.
Summary: This is our second Canon and we have generally been really happy. We got this one as a cheaper Multi-Function and I am happy with what it does. Copying - Does better than expected. Scanning - Seems to do a great job also. Printing - Very fast and happy with it The only thing I am disapointed with right now is the fact that the ink seems hard to find right now. My best luck so far was at Office Depot.
Summary: I have had this all-in-one up and running for three weeks now. Overall, I am very satisfied with it. It is not the very best of anything, but it does a good job at everything. Installation was easy. Un-boxing through software loading to printing took about 30 minutes. No problems what so ever using Microsoft XP Home SP2 operating system. Document printing: reasonably fast and images and text are clear. Photo printing: About what you would expect at this price level.
Summary: The day may home scanner broke was a very sad day. I could no longer archive my pile of old photographs or scan documents for my business. I needed a scanner and I needed one fast, and preferably cheap. A visit to the local Tesco's introduced me to an all in one printer, scanner and copier all for less than £50. To me this seemed a bargain, so I purchased one quickly. The item in question was the Pixma MP170 by Canon.
Excerpt: I bought the product from a local dealer in Fiji (Courts Homecenters) already for one year but I found a warranty card for three years inside the package but when I took it to the dealer for repair they said it is not on a warranty. The brand is Canon Pixma MP170.Can you please explain why?But on the other end the product is quite good.
