Excerpt: Canon MP160, Scanning and copying are very easy to do. The printing is the problem. The "catch" on the paper is RARELY right. It either takes too many pages or it wrinkles and ruins the page that you have in there. I tried different settings or adjustments and nothing seems to change it. The programing option (there are many) so that you can adjust the setting depending on your goal more ink, less ink etc... there are so many printer options.
The CanonPixma MP160 is a very thirsty printer! Too Thirsty!

Excerpt: I am one of many people that received this AIO printer in a bundle with a computer purchase. At that time I thought it would be an acceptable printer to use inplace of my HP 952c printer, whose only fault was a broken paper guide lever that caused paper jams. But I have been proven wrong. But first the good. I like the software that allows you to scan in multiple documents and save them in a single pdf file.
Excerpt: The Canon Pixma MP160 Printer, Copier, and Scanner is "just average". I was quite surprised with Canon....Canon is great with everything but kinda messed up on this printer. What I actually liked about it is that its easy to learn to use and that it is a 3 in 1, a printer, scanner, and copier. It scans and prints average or well. The down side to this 3 in 1 bundle is that the ink cartridges are way over priced. The cartridges are inflated in price by 1000%.
Excerpt: This printer is nice in that it can do almost everything needed. It can print envelopes, black and white documents, and color photos. It can also scan documents or make black and white or color copies. However despite having a scanner it lacks any fax functionality so you'll have to e-mail any documents you scan or at the very least you will need to download some kind of fax software. The quality of the scans also isn't great, but it's good enough for most things.
Excerpt: I got this with my computer for the first time. It worked great. It scanned all of my photo's so I could make movies on my movie maker, and transfer them to dvd. If you have old photo's that are not digital, this printer scanner is great for putting them on you computer. The color is great also, sharp contrast. The pictures do not come out dull. I used it for over a year to print tons of pictures. The price is good, to last this long.
Summary: The Canon Pixma MP 160 printer is a fairly convenient printer and prints quickly. It lacks the ability to copy documents more than one page at a time, since you must place the item to be copied flat on the document screen prior to copying. However having a flat document screen does make it easier to copy a page from a book or magazine that can't be done easily on some other printers. The color copying is very good, and the colors are clear and seldom need adjusting.
Summary: Recently purchased this multi-purpose printer. Actually was a purchase to replace in-kind printer which experienced mechanical damage. Only negative aspect of the original MP-160 was, in my opinion, the ink cartridge replacement costs. I find Canon cartride replacements, very expensive. Not much experience, with printer ink, but found sources to buy remanufactured cartridges and ultimately, a re-fill mail center, whcih reduced the ink costs in half.
Summary: [...] Secondly, the quality is decent. It prints at an ok speed, and the pictures always looked great. There aren't many places that sell Canon ink. It is relatively expensive. I pay nearly $[...] for both black and colored ink. That doesn't sound like a lot but when you are buying it twice a month it adds up. The main issues that I have with this printer is that after about a year, it started jamming.
Summary: I had this printer for 2 years. When it was working, it was great. I used it mostly for printing text documents and some scanning occasionally. I didn't mind that the ink cartridges didn't last long or that the papers got jammed every now and then; however, I am disappointed that it broke after only 2 years of light usage. The paper feeder stopped working. I contacted Canon only to be told that they don't have an on-site service center for this type of repair.
