Excerpt: People buy printers in great hopes. As for me, I wanted to avoid the long wait at the Xerox shop which also did printing. When a web site offered Canon’s range of low cost printers, I felt the decision was made :buy one. No need of haggling with salesmen who try to sell you things that you don’t w ...
Summary: Uses way to much ink. Quality of print jobs is poor, prints slow, & photo quality is poor too. When waste ink receptacle fills you may as well trash can this piece of junk because the interior of the ink carriage is splattered with sticky ink. Canon says you need to have it serviced. At that cost you may as well buy a new one. I'll use this cheap[o until my cartridges are used up then replace. Replacement cartridges are too costly.
Summary: this all in one is a total load of shite. it wont let u scan a document if you havent any ink cartridges installed. even if you dont ever use the printer you still have to shell out on ink to be able to scan documents
Summary: I bought this printer to replace the MP130 my ex took with her thinking that the pile of $3 a piece black and color ink cartridges would work on the MP150. Nope. Of course I bought the model that has $24-30/piece ink that is a different style that the 130. I tried a refill kit for it and it was a joke. Ended up covered in ink, and resetting the printer to recognize the ink is a pain in the ass.
Excerpt: Hey all,I recently bought a Canon Pixma MP 198 Printer and to my utter surprise the printer is not working from day 1. Had to call atleast 3 for the service personal to come down and finally they diagnosed the scanner unit is faulty and they said they would replace it I three days. Its been more ...
Summary: I have had this thing for less than a year and it did not get heavy use - maybe 20-30 pages a month at most. At first I admit that I liked it - it worked well and the print quality was okay. BUT I've had it less than a year and already it has quit working. At first I got the Service error 5100 and I put a new black ink cartridge in it and turned it on and off and on and off and it worked for a few pages. Then it would not print any color pages.
Summary: It always reports being out of paper, so every two pages or so I have to hit the "start" button. I don't have to readjust the paper. No, I just have to sit next to the printer and, George Jetson-like, press a button every 30 seconds or so (and then wait about 1 minute as it clicks and whirrs while readying itself to print). Sometimes pressing the button doesn't take. The troubleshooting step for this is to press the button a second or even third time.
Summary: We bought this printer after our old HP finally died. My sister and I both take online classes and we use it quite a lot. It prints fine, but that being said, it is a horrible purchase! It eats ink faster than any printer I have ever seen. We have had to buy ink 3 times, this month already. The ink from this printer doesn't come cheap either.
Summary: Wow, what a great price! I purchased this printer because the cost was about the same as new cartridges for an HP printer I had. After about 2 weeks of minimal use, the half-filled default cartridges needed replacement. New cartridges for this printer run at almost $50 each so I was out twice the purchase price. After replacement, barely 3 weeks go by and the printer software tells me I'm almost out of ink. Again, this is not with excessive use.
